Red Baron 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 TSN rarely carries Hockey games on Friday's. I hope TSN doesn't become Toronto's Sport Network (there's allready two of them).
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 So Chelios told the media that Gary Bettman should get the gas. OMGJEWZ0RZ. This is right after Jeremy Roenick told the fair-weather fans to kiss his ass. The Chicago Blackhawks roster from my old NHL '95 is goin' to war! When do Ed Belfour and Tony Amonte make controversial comments?
Fartsauce 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2005 In Belfour's case, probably the next time he is drunk. So tomorrow.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2005 Yeah, even before Chelios sent Bettman to the gas chamber, I was thinking "you know, Ed Belfour is long overdue in making an ass of himself." My hope is that when they announce the lockout is over, he projectile-vomits on Bob Goodenow, trashes the room the press conference is in, yells something incoherent, and passes out. That'd be some good Ed Belfour.

Probably not since he should have won the Vezina trophy the last NHL season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why, exactly? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I wouldn't mind hearing more about this, as Brodeur has clearly been the best goalie in the league since Roy retired. Luongo deserved it more than Belfour as well.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Ok, if the Sens are chokers, they're off my list. Vancouver is the frontrunner. Wait, doesn't Buffalo have that dude named Satan?
Fartsauce 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 This is awesome. Finally people are arguing about players on their own team being better than someone else on another team instead of talking about the cba.

treble 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 The Sens' choking is highlighted by the fact that they always lose to the same team. And they always wear down the Leafs, who always lose the next series after beating Ottawa.
Fartsauce 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 I have this great feeling the Leafs won't come close to making the playoffs this season which makes me extremely happy because I live in Sudbury, which is dominated by Leafs fans. I'm probably the only Oilers fan in the entire city.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 I don't really watch hockey.......it's cool that it's coming back though. I root for the Bruins b/c I like the Sox and Celtics so much.....but I am by no means a die-hard fan of anything hockey. But I mean it's cool it's back. smh810 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Why are you even looking at an unproven guy who's gonna be a backup to someone who played VERY well in the postseason last year. I dont care how good he's supposed to be, stick with Robert Esche.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Forgive my blatant bias, but I think Miikka Kiprusoff also qualifies here. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mikka Kiprusoff can go to hell and die. Besides, Luongo and Brodeur are a million times better than him.
stahl 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 Why, exactly? His stats were better than Brodeur. Brodeur is a work horse and is the best goalie in the game, but his last season wasn't a top season for him. His wins were high like usual but he played over 70 games on a top club so he will always hit the near 40 mark. If you were to project Belfours stats into Brodeurs games played Belfour would have more wins, less losses, more shut outs and a barely higher GAA. Belfour had the better all round year. As for the person who said that Luongo deserved it more than Belfour. Maybe, but im still under the belief that if you can't get your team into the playoffs you shouldn't really be considered the top goalie even if your stats are fairly good. If Luongo got his team into the playoffs than I would be all for him winning the Vezina over both Eddie and Brodeur.
the max 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2005 You can't give someone the Vezina for the ability to "project" their stats to make them better. If you go by that logic, your argument against even considering Louie for the Vezina is hypocritical, as Louie is a much better goalie than Belfour. Project Louie's stats in with a halfway decent defense in front of him and he's lightyears past Eddie. Why stop there? Let's project what Iginla would have done with some offensive help. He likely would have had simular numbers to St. Louis, so let's give the Hart to Iginla.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Niittymaki > God > everyone else Shame he is only going to backup Esche to start the season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No way. Dan Cloutier is the best goalie by far (/sarcasm) and yes AoO, Buffalo does have a player named Satan, though where he is going to play next year I have no idea. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Has everyone else's teams pretty much made the decision already on who they are giving the 2/3rds buyout to? I know the Flyers have all but held a press conference announcing they are releasing Amonte and LeClair. It is going to be one wacky ass FA period once all the players get bought out. In NHL 2004, he led the Canucks to the Stanley Cup. I played as the Penguins in ESPN NHL 2K5 and I got him in a trade and also won the Stanley Cup. I would have won another one but the game keeps freezing. It seems like the rosters of each team are going to be jumbled up. This should be intresting.
