Money, money, money, individual, individual, individual. The answer isn't reform the NFL poor policy, it's ask for ridiculous amounts of money and hold out from the team because they COULD drop you if they felt like it. Sounds like a recipe for success to me. Showing integrity in ANY situation will always be noble. Come on.... Yes because the number of players in the NFL struggling for security is just amazing.... I'm not feeling sorry for anyone who gets to make a living playing a game they love, let alone people who make way beyond what they need to live comfortably playing a game they love. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No seriously stop it. You are clueless here man. Do you even realize the toll that playing football takes on a man's body? How old do most football players retire? I'm not talking about the Emmitt Smiths or Jerry Rices either, they are aberrations, exceptions to the rule really. The average NFL career is 3 years long. Yeah, 3 years. So you are goddamn right they should get as much as they can from a business that wrecks their bodies and doesn't care one bit about them throughout the process. When you say things like "make a living playing a game they love" that's all fine and dandy, but don't for one second trivialize the hard work and dedication that it takes to be an NFL player. He's already under contract, where he is now going to miss all of training camp and most of the season to hold out. If he's only holding out for a few million per year, why not renogtiate during the season? The team needs him BAD right now - yet, though he's an All-Pro receiver, he's bitching about not being paid like Harrison and Moss. Hmm, maybe you shouldn't have signed the contract in the first place, dumbass. Not only that, but bitch about not being a Eagle, then forcing a trade to them after bitching about being a Niner. In which case, agents (or the union) should be negotiating for buy-outs in cases of cuts.
