nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I enjoyed this movie a bunch, however I agree with the "It was not Horror, it was 70's Exploitation" sentiment. I really liked a lot of the dialouge, as I could be heard LOL in the theater while others might have been feeling uneasy or uncomfortable in their seats. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was one scene (which I can't specify, since I don't know how to do spoilers) where pretty much everyone in the theatre laughed at an inopportune time ... as soon as we all quieted down, someone yelled out "how was that funny?!?" There were quite a few scenes that were LOL funny.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 When DDP first showed up on the screen in the theater I watched this piece of crap, a wave of hands went up into the air doing the DDP sign. I think I was in a big room with a lot of wrestling fans.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 The only thing that bothered me about DDP's inclusion in this movie was the fact that his accent seemed so out of place in relation to anyone else's.
dubq 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 Saw it last night. Definitely leaps and bounds better than House1KC. However, Rob Zombie really needs to a] learn to write dialogue, b] realize that shaky camera movements do not equal terror OR suspense, and c] note that just because his wife is attractive it does not mean she can act or should ever be in any movie ever again, thanks. Robert 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I saw it on Sunday, and I gotta admit it wasn't that bad. It was good, alot better than the first one. This one wasn't as much of a TCM rip-off which was good. There was some funny quotes in it, and I actually liked how they ended up felling human in the end. It was like you can't really change yourself before the worst is about to happen.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 What a wretched, overly long, poorly-written, dumbass-character-filled, unappealing, cliche pile of shit that was. If this is *better* than House of 1000 Corpses, thank God I skipped that one. I didn't expect it to be scary, but it wasn't really "edgy", or unnerving, or disturbing. Just flat out stupid. The dialogue was awful, but there was quite a few decent intentional laughs in there. Far too many unintentional ones, though. Oh, and horror fans will likely enjoy playing "spot the reference," but I wouldn't see the movie just for that. There was one scene (which I can't specify, since I don't know how to do spoilers) where pretty much everyone in the theatre laughed at an inopportune time ... as soon as we all quieted down, someone yelled out "how was that funny?!?" I assume you mean when the maid comes in. Holy crap, that was hilarious, and made no sense whatsover. b] realize that shaky camera movements do not equal terror OR suspense Thankfully that stopped after the opening sequence, for the most part. I'd never thought I'd say this, but the movie didn't have enough DDP.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 Is it true that DDP actually does the Diamond Cutter in the movie, and yells BANG! after he does it? Just sounds So. Fucking. Stupid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, that doesn't happen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank god.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 who's his wife, the blonde chick that plays Baby? Black Lushus-knows nothing about Rob Zombie outside of his music... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, Lushus, Sherri Moon Zombie is his wife, and she plays Baby ... uber-hot. note that just because his wife is attractive it does not mean she can act or should ever be in any movie ever again, thanks. See, I disagree ... I won't say she's a good actress, but she was perfect for that role. I think she does a better job of seeming believable than Sid Haig does as Capt Spaulding. I think it's just the lines that Zombie's written for him, but sometimes his words seems very forced. Sherri seems pretty much on-point to me.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I laughed my ass off at that part, personally. And it's funny...because the characters that were so accentuated in the first one, namely Baby and Mother, were the ones that weren't that interesting in this one. The Sheriff was awesome, though, and I marked hard for Ken Foree. I don't see how people could not like this movie. It has horror legends in it, great gore, some fun dialogue exchanges, and a great ending. Plus, during those scenes where you laugh when you know you probably shouldn't be, that's how you know the movie is working (because, to me, exploitation films are about how sick of a society we truly are). I half-expected them to cut to a shot of the truck's cab, and you would see road runner in it going "meep, meep!" Am I supposed to believe that the hostage girl was driven to complete insanity, hence why she'd chase the maid? Meh. She didn't actually try to hurt her or anything, the maid just freaked out and didn't so much as give a second look back.

That entire scene was just pathetic. The hostage was chasing the maid, I thought, because she wanted someone to help her, so when the maid took off the hostage took off after her, so fucking stupid. I just don't really understand the entire thing, it was just so stupid and cliche. Regardless of the hostage's state of mind, whey didn't she just, well, TAKE OFF THAT FUCKING MASK!!!!!!??? Then of course she just HAPPENS to run into the street, where she just HAPPENS to get splattered. Talk about unoriginal writing, and just plain bad everything. Personally, I found her dialogue to be the most forced.. or wooden.. whatever. Again, thank God I'm not the only one who thinks that. Her acting isn't anywhere near the level it should be for any sort of Hollywood flick. I'd say she'd be abot on par with a very bad high school play or something. She obviously doesn't have a clue what she's doing in front of the camera. For such an important character, it's just so stupid for this bitch to have the role...Zombie's g/f or wife or not. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 I'd take The Devil's Rejects over any number of films that have come out in the past decade or so. Zombie uber alles. ...and yes, I am a Rob Zombie fanboy.
