Does Y2J have a shot at winning at Summerslam?

That's the Jericho I miss.

That entire segment, form the introductions until the end of the title match, is honestly one of the funniest/best segments I've ever seen.

That was my first thought when I saw this thread title.

Johnny Singer? Swinger? You ever heard of this guy? I sure haven't.

I almost hope Jericho leaves WWE and goes to TNA, because it would give me a reason to watch it.

I remember an interview with Y2J posted on this board a few months ago. The guy seemed pretty resigned to the fact that he had done everything he could in WWE and was never going to be one of the "elite" main event types. It was almost sad, thinking about how WWE has basically wasted him over the last four years or so.

From the Observer website...

WWE.com reported that Chris Jericho in fact did sign his contract extension on Monday night in Cleveland, and is staying with the company.

Oh well.

WWE missed a great chance to work the IWC with this. Everyone could've been bought into believing Jericho was leaving (maybe even causing fans at SummerSlam to chant "You Sold Out" to him) and then swerve everyone by having him win.

If only Russo was booking.

McMahon, on the other hand, is smart enough that he's not going to ruin the title scene for the next six months just to "work the internet".

I hadnt watched wrestling for the longest time. But I saw a recap of the Jericho-Cena feud on Heat yesturday. My question is, Is there anychance of Jericho winning? I think it would be great and would definately be better for the show, cause Jericho in his current form is great. Is there any chance of him winning it till the next PPV even?

That's brilliant.

No. Not at all. Cena has had millions of dollars spent on him to try market him as an all round superstar than can rap, wrestle and act. He makes them millions in merchandise in return. He is more over than ever and marketable to wiggas, kids, the new breed of slut teenage girls that pretend to be black and hard done by but wouldn't actually really want to be... he's a golden egg right now amongst a lot of goose shit.

Jericho is the record holder for IC title wins. He is second tier in many eyes and had his one chance at success pissed on by Booker T run ins to help him win, picking up dog shit and being a world champion that runs around getting fucking lotion for the boss's daughter. He is born to runner up.

The one (Elimination Chamber) in January drew DICK and no-one cared

Umm, NYR get a pretty good buyrate?

I do believe NYR did something like 350,000 buys, which is terrific for a non-Big Four PPV. The match itself was enjoyable, and the Puerto Rican crowd was hot for mostly everything, even Maven.

Even if Jericho did win at SummerSlam, his reign most likely wouldn't be very long (at most it would be two months). Hell, he might even lose it the next night on RAW.

Of course, I still don't think he's winning at SummerSlam.
