MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I keep waiting for Obama to bust out "WELL ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!" Does anyone actually believe that if Obama gets elected, this tremendous wave of change will suddenly flood the entire country overnight and things will get better? I think its funny he basically rehashed his speech from the 2004 Democratic Convention.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Basically in one night its been whittled down to Obama/Edwards/Clinton on the Dem side (which is really what its unofficially been from the start). Richardson will probably hang around just because but he's clearly not going to be a factor anymore. The Republicans still have all 6 still in the running given guys like Rudy weren't focused on Iowa anyway and I dont see him or McCain or Ron Paul dropping out based on their poor showings. I imagine Thompson wont call it quits just yet but he'll probably be closer after NH. My guess is that Hillary and Romney win NH, with Edwards and McCain in 2nd. Ron Paul will finish a surprise 3rd in NH to keep him going and Obama slips to 3rd. After that, the Republicans probably get whittled down to Romney/Huckabee/Paul/McCain/Rudy, and I think it will eventually get whittled down to Romney/Huckabee and either Paul or McCain depending on how things go short term past NH. Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Biden & Dodd dropped out. Gravel is out too... Pretty sure Obama's offered him the VP spot to withdraw. Most likely. Charles Barkley writes to say that Obama winning Iowa is a "great start" and he hopes it leads to Obama "winning it all." And who wants to argue with Sir Charles? -New Republic blog I wanna see a Chuck vs. Chuck debate (Barkley vs. Norris).
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 It's a bit depressing that this is what Mike Gravel is going to be remembered for, not his work ending the Vietnam War and the draft.

Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted January 4, 2008 It's a bit depressing that this is what Mike Gravel is going to be remembered for, not his work ending the Vietnam War and the draft. Don't worry, most people won't remember Mike Gravel at all.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 He was the biggest joke of all the candidates. The weird internet ads, the debate outbursts, the interview gibberish, etc. Far more people will know Gravel as that, not the great leader of the 1970s.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I think you're overestimating how big those internet campaign ads were. The only people I know personally that saw them were people I showed the video too. I agree with Czech, most people won't remember him period.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 MSNBC is breaking out the big guns here, huh. Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Howard Dean, campaign managers for Obama and Edwards. They've balanced it out with Pat Buchanan now! And, on Fox, all is fair with the presence of that old hermaphrodite, Susan Estrich.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 My new wallpaper. Right now I'm just pumped a candidate I support could possibly win. I think the bounce Obama gets will get him to eck out NH vs. Hillary. SC will be tight vs. Edwards and Obama. Hillary needs to keep it close to keep the wishy washy Dems who think she's more electable on her side. Super Tuesday will be up in the air, I'm pessimistic and say Hillary will win. I like Huckabee as a person, I'm really afraid another religious nut running the White House. He seems to actual care about poor people, but I don't want a nut who doesn’t believe in evolution running the country. I think any of the Dem contenders will have a big advantage over any of the GOP contenders, based on the candidates and eight years of Bush/Cheney. However, as a Dem, I do really fear a Huckabee/Clinton matchup.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I watched MSNBC last night and they totally figured out why Hilary went down to Obama. Obama was on Leno, Hilary was on Letterman. That's it. It was nothing else other than Obama went on Leno. I'm confused why the folks of Iowa would care about such things but if that is what MSNBC thinks, that's what they think. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Well, the thing seems to be that Hillary basically has to win New Hampshire to have a real shot, at least from what I'm seeing. If Obama wins NH, he'll probably win in South Carolina, and then go into Super Tuesday as the favorite to win the nomination. As far as the Republicans, if Romney can't bounce back and win in NH, he's toast.
NYU 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Bruce Jenner and Roger Ebert are the kings of Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians, though. menwholooklikeoldlesbians.blogspot.com for the uninitiated I always thought Paul McCartney looked like an old lesbian too. I really dislike Mitt Romney. He just seems like such a phony talking about his family values and his "I've cursed but I've never, ever used the evil curse words" thing too. It feels like he's never telling the truth in his speeches, and I can't respect a candidate like that, regardless of where he stands on certain issues. Yeha, I caught that too. Just in case it wasn't bad enough to use a dyke from Air America and the Bill O'Reilly Newswire to host your election coverage, throw in some shameless cross-promotion as well. MSNBC's coverage is a joke, but at least most of us are in on it, I guess. EDIT: I missed Obama's speech last night. Can somebody help me find a transcript?
