BruiserKC 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Now that the Rev. Phelps has weighed in, the only nutjob we're waiting on with his 2 cents is good ol' OBL. He still has a few days to put out an October surprise like he did in 2004 promoting Kerry. As for me, I'm voting for Bob Barr on election day. I've just come to the conclusion that both Comrade Obama and Comrade McCain are going to both take us down the path to socialism in this country. We're already seeing it now with the government buying into the banking systems and failing businesses. It's bad enough my money is going to executives getting a bonus or a happy ending at the spa. Let the overextended business fail, it's part of the capitalist system. Plus, I am fine with paying my fair share of taxes but giving money that I've earned to people that don't pay taxes to spread the wealth doesn't sit well with me. That system has failed in many western European nations and won't work here.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 More info... ATF disrupts skinhead plot to assassinate Obama WASHINGTON – Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday. In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name. Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community. The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081027/ap_on_...r/skinhead_plot

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Fire up the base? Check. Does this count as "firing up the base"? ____________________________________ In fairness to Mrs. Palin, she is making a legitimate political argument that is in no way racist, so it is not like she incited the slur, and there's no way of knowing if she even heard the woman who did yell it out (though I don't see how she couldn't if the CNN microphone picked it up). I think we need a definition of "rich". Compared to the rest of the world, even the bum on the street panhandling for change is rich. Hell, that bum probably makes more money in a day than Obama's brother in Africa makes in a year.

Barney Frank is just chomping at the bit to tax all of us. The plan is eventually to get every household that makes more than $42K, take money off the top of that and pass it on to the folks who don't pay taxes. And while Obama may not support same-sex marriage on a national level, Congressman Frank does and will no doubt be someone to push that.

Guest Report post Posted October 28, 2008 What part is not to like? Issues like gay marriage and abortion should not be decided at a federal level. Those are states issues. Frank's record shows that he is in favor of pushing money toward the lower class, rather than pushing jobs at the lower class.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 “This election comes down to how you want your hard-earned money spent. Do you want to keep it and invest it in your future, or have it taken by the most liberal person to ever run for the presidency and the Democratic leaders who have been running Congress for the past two years—Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? This is a dangerous threesome,” McCain declared. It’s a line of attack that McCain and his supporters have been pursuing more heatedly in the final days of the campaign, slyly reminding voters that if Obama wins, Washington will be under one-party rule, with Democrats in control of the White House and Congress. Several McCain advisers, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of McCain’s closest friends, believe it’s a winning argument for McCain—that voters prefer a divided government. (Indeed, McCain's "threesome" line this morning was a big crowd pleaser--perhaps a little too much, considering the subsequent giggling among some members of the audience after the fact.) http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/sprinttothe...-threesome.aspx Are the speechwriters so bored now they're just handing him gag-speeches just to see if he'll read them? Guest Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I wasn't rolling my eyes at him, I was rolling my eyes at you. I was amused by your praise and encouragment for a half-ass, conspiratorial "Democrats are trying to take all our money!!!!!" post, given your past distain for me and what I've written (especially considering that I've been able to back up my ideas with, you know, citations, facts, and other signs of actually being informed). If that's the kind of zingy, message board goodness you're looking for, then I strongly suggest you resign your position as a moderator and come back when your education in political discourse consists of more than a few issues of The Limbaugh Letter, you worthless hack. At Home 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Have I missed something with Obama's tax plan recently? I thought Obama was going to cut taxes on people making under $250,000 a year. Nightwing 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Issues like gay marriage and abortion should not be decided at a federal level. Those are states issues. I agree on Abortion, but not on Gay Marriage. Abortion applies to all women equally; it's not like we are talking about Black Women versus White Women. But Gay Marriage is denying someone something simply on the basis of sexuality. It goes against the "Due Process" clauses in the 5th and 14th Amendment. If marriage were a strictly religious entity that provided no benefits other than title, you might have a case. But health plans, tax plans, and dozens of other things are affected by this. You can't legally deny someone something without due process of law.
