Don't you think that one omnibus thread is simpler than 20 different topics about various issues of this election 2008?

Yes?

No?

I was wondering myself would the actual election have its own thread that would take the place of this one like a week before Election Day?

Seeing people at the RNC with environmental signs, ones about the country being green is just strange.

By the way, has there been any statement regarding the fact that even if McCain wins he's stuck with a Democratic majority in both houses?

Simpler, yes, better, no. I'm not really a proponent of megathreads. They kill off folders like Wal-Mart kills Main Street. Thought you'd like that one, Eric.

Romney is bitching about things going downhill since 1980 thanks to liberals. Uh, only eight of those twenty-eight years have had a Democratic president.

Romney's speech was little more than an advertisement to extreme right wingers about how great a candidate he would be a few years.

Romney representing the richest and whitest elements of America. What the fuck, it's like he decided if he couldn't get the White House for his time as Governor, he might as well piss on all of it.

Oh, Huckabee, you say disagreeable things just so well by golly.

So MITT FUCKING ROMNEY bitches about costal Elitism? Rips the Dems for wanting to close down Gitmo, yet claims the GOP is the Party of the constitution? I have to admire the GOP for being true hypocrites with a blink of an eye.

Huckabee: Palin won more votes than Biden's presidential run.

Uh, Palin got 617 votes, Biden got 651.

Punch of the night so far....

Huckabee: Sarah Palin got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla than Joe Biden did running for president.

Except, you know, it's wrong.

When she ran for re-election, she received 909 votes. Wait a second. 909. That's pretty weird...

You edited quicker than I posted.

Sorry to say, but the whining all day from the conservatives has made Palin off limits now.

The press didn't break the pregnant daughter story, the McCain campaign did. But they can get away with blaming the press for it, and that gives her enough sympathy to innoculate her against legitimate concerns about her experience and truthfulness about her own record.

I find it absolutely brain-dead on the press's part to be made to look guilty for repeating a true story about her daughter because families are off limits, but totally fall for it when candidates try to use their kids to win votes.

Huckabee didn't mention which election he was speaking about. I'm just defending what he said, as it is factually correct. All there is to it.

Huckabee just said running for mayor, he didn't specificy which election.

EDIT: 909 beat me to it, come on man, I'm the official Huckabee apologist.

Really, it's a stupid thing to pick apart, since he ad-libbed it anyway. (CNN doesn't have it in their transcript of the speech)

So far tonight we've heard the "take Washington back from the liberals" argument , "the vote for a war hero" argument, and the "resume matters" argument, and now a combination of the three from Guiliani.

Palin has been picked raw, they seem to be trying to get the media to keep picking at it. They seem to be gambling that if they keep it up, the GOP can get people to believe The Big Lie about the media and gain sympathy votes.

They are trying to re-frame the election into a referendum on the media, because they've been making it a referendum on Obama thus far and that's been causing them to lose. On the other hand, there's enough chance that if you goad the media they'll actually do their jobs and report on things like how she left Wasilla $20 million in debt.

That the McCain proxy went nuclear about a National Enquirer story caused some to believe the campaign is making bad stories about her to complain about the press.
