MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2005 Pujols hit a homerun so now he leads the NL in Rbis, and is 3 behind Lee and Jones in HRs. And is closing in on Lee for the batting title, and so is Cabrera.

the max 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2005 I feel bad for Pedro Gomez. It appeared that he was walking into a "Making History" thing, but he's been forced to cover Bonds. Anyone surprised that Bonds is out for the season?

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2005 Anyone feel bad for Brett Boone, being released by the Twins yesterday? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Somewhat, but it is a part of baseball. Every player reaches a point where his skills can not carry him anymore. It will be interesting to see if Boone tries again with another organization or if he calls it quits. Guest Smues Report post Posted August 2, 2005 Boo they released him? I was having fun seeing how long he could go there without an extra base hit.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2005 In other news, with the Mariners dropping Aaron Sele, indications are that top prospect Felix Hernandez will make his debut Thursday. Hernandez will be the youngest player to reach MLB since Adrian Beltre in 1999.

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2005 I'm going down to Fenway to see the Red Sox against the Kansas City Royals. One of the hottest teams in baseball versus the Kansas City Royals. What a (mis)match. I'm in the front row of the centerfield bleachers, so I'll have a good chance of heckling David DeJesus and wearing a wig and a beard and becoming one of Damon's Disciples. Should be a hoot.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 A parade of boos reigns down at the Worst Ballpark Ever after the Phils just gave 2 runs to the Cubbies after a scoreless game, top 8.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Madsen loads the bases with two out, top 9...Burnitz strikes out tho to end inning, swung at 2 bad pitches, IMO. Abreu, Utley coming up in bottom 9. Let's see if Abreu can show interest.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Dempster walks Utley (full count), Abreu (full count), and Burrell (4-1)...crazy. HE WALKS HOWARD after a 1-2 start. This is the Phillies' most exciting half inning in a LONG time.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones left Tuesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds with a right shoulder injury. Jones, who spent six weeks on the disabled list with a foot injury earlier this season, got hurt while diving to his left in an attempt to stop Ryan Freel's sharp grounder with two outs in the fourth inning. Jones walked off gently holding the fingertips of his right hand after being examined on the field. Jones already had driven in four runs with three hits, including a solo homer, to help NL East-leading Atlanta build a 7-1 lead. The homer was his seventh of the season and first since July 18, the day he came off the disabled list. Wilson Betemit replaced Jones at third base. Uh-oh. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Chong, Dempter was complete garbage tonight. After his four walks, he faced THE MIGHTY DAVID BELL & COLOSSUS OF THOMAS PEREZ. Both are what we describe as "easy outs". But of course the Phillies didn't need to make any moves.
