Unforgiven speculation...

Aside from the all but confirmed Angle-Cena match, what else do the rest of yall see happening in the coming five weeks or so, heading towards Unforgiven?

Hardy/Edge rematch isn't out of the question.

Shawn will be facing... somebody. Though the face list is paticularly small right now. I myself wouldn't mind him vs. Shelton, though given the latter's recent push into the mid-card, its unlikely.

RVD's due back soon so if Carlito's still champion by then I'l expect a match between the two.

They seem to be moving toward Big Show-Masters, which could keep going post SS.

Truth be told they're more than a little hurt on talent. HHH and Flair are gone till October, Jericho's taking a break after the PPV, Hulk's match at Summerslam is a one-shot deal, and no one seems to know (or care) when Kane will come back.

Who does Michaels fight after Summerslam- Cena's the only top level face I can think of and he's got Angle- maybe have a lengthy ppv program with Benjamin- Benjamin can win at Unforgiven in a percieved upset by the announcers, Michaels at the next ppv (Taboo Tuesday?) and then Benjamin can win the big blow off match at Survivor Series?

If I were to guess, I'd say HBK will probably feud with Big Show going into Unforgiven. Show's a mildy credible face and they'll want him on the card, so they'll probably just find it convenient to have him put over Shawn to help build up Shawn for an eventual title shot.

As was previously stated, Angle/Cena, RVD/Carlito and a Matt/Edge rematch are pretty match givens, so that's half the card right there.

To fill it out, I see something along the lines of:

Eugene vs. Chris Masters

Random segment with diva search contestants/winner

Viscera and Kane vs. Snitsky and Jericho

Hype video for the return of HHH

Shelton Benjamin vs. Kerwin White (possibly a Heat match)

Jericho could be there for the pay-per-view, but is going to have to be moved into a program that doesn't require him at the live shows up until then. Either that, or just announce his match a week before the show.

I don't know who I'd pair him up with, though...just like HHH, his last two *fresh" programs are with Cena and Angle.

I speculate that the card will not be worth ordering.

I agree. This feels as a PPV you can avoid. Don't forget to add the return of Trish. She's probably going to feud with the latest Diva winner. :(

On a lighter note: 500th post, BABY!! :headbang:

This is a bit obscure but does anyone remember an Apter mag (either PWI or Inside Wrestling) from early 96 with the front cover being something along the lines of 'HBK vs Giant- both men discuss their strategies to beat the other'- nice to see they could finally get round to it nearly 10 years later!

In his pre 02 run I always thought that Shawn made a load of big men's greatest matches by bumping like a loon for them- Sid, Nash, and Taker all had excellent matches with him, Vader had one of his better WWF matches with him and more recently, HBK has had a good match against Kane at last years Unforgiven and had a good match with Batista back when Batista didn't know what a good match was in 2003- do you reckon Shawn could get something great out of Show if they both put their minds to it- seeing as Shawn works better as a heel, and Show is a better worker imo than Nash and Sid.....

I think Shawn will stay a face after the match with Hogan.

The card will probably suck. Cena has no credible opponents right now. There is no tag division. There is no IC division. Cena vs a heel HBK would be best but I think Cena and Angle will main event while all the other matches are quickly thrown together and meaningless.

Yea, I can't wait for the return of Trish as well.

I think a HBK-Show program sounds like an interesting idea, but who would think that HBK WASN'T going to win a match between them? Show hasn't won a big match in a LONG time and as several posters have indicated over the last few months in other threads, is only programmed into a main event slot when they run out of ideas and then made to look like a dufus. Thus, I don't know if it can work to really 'elevate' HBK into a legit title contender (which I'd already assume he is).

You really do book weird shows. How do you get Eugene-Masters (which would be a cop-out booking wise, given that Eugene has just won the Kurt Angle Invitational), Viscera/Kane vs Snitsky/Jericho (arent both Kane and Jericho out?)and Shelton/Kerwin (Kerwin is no where near such a match) from?

I cant see how there can be a Matt-Edge rematch, given that they should technically try to kill each other at SS, but I can see the WWE making it happen, along with Cena-Angle and CCC-RVD. They can easily get to HBK-Shelton, have Shelton call him a two-faced bitch.

The diva search will be over by then.

God I can't wait for Trish to come back.

Your not the only one. Imagine her in the SummerSlam trailer promo.

Why does everybody book TBS-HBK? Id prefer to HBK-Benjamin and TBS-Masters. People have also said that Jericho wont be there either.

I can see them doing:

Cena-Angle (WWE)

RVD-Carlito (IC)

Matt-Edge (Streetfight)

HBK-Benjamin

TBS-Masters (Submissions Match)

SuperHeros-Heartthrobs (Tag)

Trish-Victoria (Womans)

Eugene-Striker

That's the best I could do, it's really hard to book a decent Raw only PPV with characters people care about when you're down: HHH, Flair, Kane and Jericho.

Which goes to show that RAW got the bum side of the draft.

Is Kane really supposed to be gone for a month and a half?

I mean I get that he's going off TV for a while to step out of the way for Matt and Edge, but after they've had their first big PPV match, is he still going to be such a problem that he can't even have a minor feud in the background?

Unless there's something from Keller or Meltzer that I'm unaware of, I don't see any reason to think Kane wouldn't be on the card at Unforgiven.

For that matter, I thought the Jericho thing was blown out of proportion and that while he was likely to miss house shows and maybe Raws here and there, he was still going to do some dates, and definitely wouldn't miss a PPV. Is there information out there that I'm just missing?
