They also always wear black, which has always been my thing. Now everyone asks me if I'm emo because I have on black shorts, black shoes, black socks, a black shirt and a black hat. This makes me sad.

It's always been my thing to wear black too. Also most of my tshirts are band shirts, as I like to support the bands I see. I also listen to some "emo" music.

I think emo is more of an attitude though. If you go around depressed over a non existant girlfriend and slit your wrists to make sure you're still alive kind of thing..

If not, then I guess I'm emo.

Emo is an attitude of thinking life is all out to get you. It's also known as "overprivileged whiny bitches that like to pretend they know true pain." Seriously. The only emokids I've ever met have come from well-to-do families, and everybody I've met into rock music that comes from a middle-or-lower class family? Into heavy shit.

Not to say emo kids aren't full of shit, but why does a middle-class existence make one exempt from pain and suffering? Anyone can have a difficult life, regardless of the size of his house. Again, emo kids are full of shit, but to write off an entire sector of the population as "not knowing pain" is a little ignorant.

All I know is that Emo kids have like this whiney attitude about a girl that dumped them and yet they get more ass than anyone I know save my black friends(no i'm not being stereotypical or racist but my black friends get so much ass).

Not to mention that most Emo kids I know now only dress and act Emo b/c they say it gets girls. They don't actually believe it.

I'm not saying they're exempt from pain (hell, if you check the "cutting thread" in HD, I cursed out Fishy for saying people from well-off families don't know pain), I'm saying that they don't have a whole lot to bitch about. Most emokids I know come from families where they see their parents every day, they get along with their siblings (if they have any), and are encouraged in any practice they choose to do. But as soon as one thing goes wrong, they have a breakdown and cry about it.

What's that joke Christopher Titus makes? I'll paraphrase...

So when Armageddon comes, while all of those NORMAL people will be crying and freaking out, us messed up people will be like "hey, nobody's guarding the Cadillac dealership!"

That was my point in the first place you baffoon.

It really comes down to a lack of real problems. They don't have to struggle to survive, so there problems are usually rooted in luxury and personal relationships, like say, a girlfriend, who's both a luxury and a personal relationships. They have nothing to put it in perspective so it's as large of a problem as they make it, which is usually, life consuming.

If I'm fighting with my girlfriend and all of the sudden North Korea brings a war here, that girl problem is gonna seem pretty insignificant. If I go my whole life and that's the biggest problem I've faced, it's really easy to make it bigger than it is.

The funny thing is that these Emo kids are wearing all these band t-shirts and all of the classic rock stuff, but two years ago they wouldn't know who The Clash were.

Really? Here, emo kids listen to emo, and jocks listen to classic rock. Are jocks the emo kids there? Or are emo kids the jocks? What about emo jocks?

No, everyone wears band t-shirts, but know little information about the band. The worst crime is when they get a nice guitar like a Fender Strat or Les Paul and plaster it with a bunch of stickers. Thats not cool.

I hate Strats. But yeah, it is a terrible fucking crime to plaster your guitar, especially if it's good, with a bunch of band stickers of bands that suck. It's even worse if you have an amazingly awesome guitar and don't know how to play more than a powerchord and maybe know how to do hammer-on's and pull-off's.

Which is why I like my cheap Hamer, because I suck at guitar.
