Kardo 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 Show Starts with a video package showing last week on Velocity!!! Paul Londons title loss and subsequent promo. (couldn't believe they had this for a velocity angle!) Candice comes out as the Ring Announcer. Paul London vs. "The Future" Frankie Kazarian Matthews refers to the Super 8 tournament and past Kazarian and London meetings Pretty decent match, Mushroom stomp, Electric Chair into a bridge by Kazarian, London comes back with some STIFF kicks. Finish comes with London trying to counter the Electric Chair drop again into a victory roll and Kazarian sits down and wins clean. about **3/4 After the match, London kicks the ropes and says we've all been screwed again. Nunzio w/Big Vito vs. Jimmy Jacobs! Nunzio completely dominates, Vito gets some cheap shots in. Nunzio wins with the Sicilian Slice off the second rope. * and that's it for the squash. Recap of Rey and Eddy segment. Funaki vs. Ken Anderson Ken tells off the ring announcer and takes the mic and redoes the intr os, and calls himself Mr. Anderson. Finish comes when Ken Anderson hits a rolling Firemans Carry senton off the top rope!!!!!! still * really pedestrian match. Anderson announces himself the winner Recap of JBL/Batista segment Torrie comes out to announce the final match "Big" Stevie Cool vs. Hardcore Holly Richards works on his left knee and Hardcore sells it really really well. Finish comes when Holly struggles with the Alabama Slam because of his knee. But struggles and struggles til he hits it. **3/4 A lot better then you'd think it would be. Verdict : I enjoyed the matches alot more then Raw or Smackdown, so overall good show.

Silence 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2005 When did Nunzio win the Cruiserweight Title? I totally missed that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last Saturday on Velocity, Nunzio beat London for the title after Vito handed Nunzio a baton/billy club (not sure what it's called) and hit London in the back of the head with it. Then he pinned him. This led to London's current angle of being "screwed over" in his matches and possibly in the process of a heel turn.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 But he does have Pac-Man tights! Also tassles are not for heels.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 As much as I love London, he is just awful on the mic and as an actor. Jimmy Jacobs looked tiny, and why he picked those tights is beyond me. Anderson rocks. Richards having to come out to his old video because he's facing another face is terrible.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 So the bWo is unofficially offically dead? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he didn't come out to the music because that would've made him a face against Holly. I'm guessing it may be dead though. They'll continue to pay Meanie for four more months to stay away from a lawsuit, and keep Nova in that dead end gimmick as a Smackdown jobber. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 An interesting note from the Fantasy Board in their kayfabed way of speaking: Question: “How can Frankie Kazarian be added to Fantasy after only wrestling on Velocity twice, when The Blue Meanie hasn't been added despite wrestling on SmackDown!, Velocity AND The Great American Bash?” --Sam J. “bWo-Back in Blue, Brother” Answer: WWE Fantasy was able to promptly confirm that Frankie Kazarian is an official SmackDown! Superstar and received permission to add him to the game. We have not received word regarding the status of The Blue Meanie. We will update his status as soon as we know more
RedJed 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Did anyone tape this show, by chance? It didnt save on my DVR over the weekend while I was gone. I'd be willing to trade any 2 hour tape from my site for it.... I'm putting together a Velocity/Heat 6 hour comp tape, believe it or not , with some of the best matches (Regal-Benoit), character debuts (Kazarian, etc) since both shows are actually semi-watchable lately compared to just months ago. Plus I figure I can finish off a tape by the time both shows might get the ax next month. I hope Bauer continues to book Velocity as at least there are some angles and newworthy stuff happening though, for the time being.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 I've got it on my DVR. I can dub it over. Send me a PM if you still need it Red. We can work something out.
Garth 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Velocity this week was again very enjoyable, I marked hard for Josh's call for the mushroom stomp doing the Mario tune.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Londons pac man trunks made the show even better very interstign to say the least. Too bad Frankie is gone already as he had started to get maybe a little over and seemed comfortable working in WWE. cool to hear about that comp you are making RedJed. I wish I had taped velocity more often. I have all 3 of frnakies previous velocity matches but not this weeks.
