"Batman Begins" Sequel Proceeds

Recommended Posts

Truth be told I'd rather the villian in the sequel are ones that had shitty treatments in the last batch of films before I go with the Joker.

You know Freeze, Ivy, Bane. I like to see them in the sequels then Joker. So they can have a chance for a better storyline.

One villian is enough, IMO, and the Joker doesn't need a sidekick. Sowing the seeds for Two Face is fine, but as long as the Joker is the main and only villian in the movie, then they won't fall into that bullshit trap that the other movies fell into.

I like that idea:

Let the Joker kills Dawes.

This will *really* make things interesting between the two in the movie world. There's no way he'll ever get to kill a Batgirl or a Robin since it would take several movies to establish all those characters and their crucial elements and traits to give their deaths importance. But everyone knows Dawes was/is Batman's girl and letting the Joker kill her could give some major punch to an already historic feud. Plus, she works in the legal department so she's bound to run into the Joker somewhere down the line.

Begins had four villians, so the sequels having multiple villians would be no surprise. Begins also handled multiple villians correctly, so I have no worries

Begins handled it way better, though. In the sense that there was really only one main villian and the others were just supporting cast. When you start getting into two main villians, then you end up with over-saturation, IMO.

The Joker's right hand man should be...

CAPTAIN CLOWN!

C'mon, it's gotta happen.

Bruce Timm is now smiling in regards to you remembering an early episode from the animated series.

Batman being responsible for Ra's al Guhl's death is nothing; in the cartoon, he KILLED CAPTAIN CLOWN.

Rumors say Paul Bettany and Lacey Chulme (too busy to spell check) are up for the part.

Not only do I remember Captain Clown, but I remember the episode without having to look. The episode was called The Last Laugh. I remember it featuring a scene where Batman goes after the Joker and Joker is sitting down and he goes from a light area to dark area over and over and it scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

"YOU KILLED CAPTAIN CLOWN!!!!!"

Mista J...you have 30 minutes to move Captain Clown

You have 10 minutes to move Captain Clown.

Captain Clown has been crushed into a cube.

You have 30 minutes to move your Captain Clown Cube.

As MrZsasz pointed out, Last Laugh was a pretty bad episode overall ("hey...why isn't Joker being affected by the gas...?" "He's developed an immunity serum?" "Why are all the henchmen in suits if he has one?" "Um..good point...put a fishbowl on his head"), but Captain Clown always cracked me up.

Joker killing Dawes works for me, and not just because I despised Holmes' performance in Begins, either. The complete lack of continuity with Bats' flings in the old series was annoying.

The first few Joker episodes where bad. Be A Clown and The Last Laugh were the worst. I wasn't to fond of Christmas with the Joker either. After those episodes things started looking up for him.

From what I remember, I pretty much liked every appearance of TAS Joker...including his time in "World's Finest" and that Justice League episode he was in. OK...the one he was in with the normal dimension Joker...not the lobotomized Justice Lords dimension Joker.

...slightly off topic, but CBright's sig made me think about this: Batman Beyond...in TAS, is it the set future...or just a possible future? And is Teen Titans related to the DCAU at all?

If so...could Teen Titans be happening slightly in the future...after the events of "Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker"'s flashback scene? Would explain why Robin there seems more...serious.

Oh, and back on topic...I wanna see Harley Quinn in the movie with Joker for some sick reason. She's my fav Batman villainess, as she just likes to have fun

No one really knows whether or not Teen Titans exists in the same universe as Justice League Unlimited. Not even the people working on the shows know, apparently.

I'm pretty sure I read they weren't related.

Agreed about Christmas with the Joker and The Last Laugh, but I liked Be A Clown, particularly the scenes in the amusement park. Although, yeah, there were way better Joker episodes, like Joker's Favor. I didn't much like the Jokerfish ep a while back, but the plot is so twisted and insane I gotta love it.

Be A Clown reminds me of an ep of Cowboy Bebop (Pierrot Le Fou), containing a powerful and bizarre villain that's like a superpowered cross between Joker and Penguin.

I like Harley Quinn, but I really don't want to see her in the next movie. I'd rather see Batman and Joker wage war without sidekicks lightening the mood.

However, I would like to see them show Dr. Harlene Quinzelle working at Arkham. Towards the end of the movie after Joker is captured and thrown in Arkham, they could show Dr. Quinzelle meeting with Joker as his doctor.

Actually, no one really knows. Bruce Timm has stated that the two shows will not be having a crossover anytime soon, but he hasn't ruled out the possibility.

...reading this last one makes me hope that the petitions work.

The "Bat-Embargo"

During production of the Justice League series, a decision was made to avoid featuring any of Batman's rogues' gallery outside The Batman and the potential Batman Begins film franchise. This decision means that only obscure Bat-villains such as Clock King will appear in the current DCAU continuity. Some fans are not happy with this situation and have started petitions to reverse it.

...hell they OWN THE LICENSES...the characters backgrounds/actors/look all are different...so what's the big deal if you have Joker appearing in JLU, The Batman, and the next Batman Movie all at the same time?

I don't see the big deal at all.

...plus, for some sick reason, I wanna see Nightwing in JLU. Because IIRC, I read that for a short time he was the leader of the JLA (the comics version)

That's really a shame, especially considering how lame most of The Batman's "reimaginings" are. That could explain partly why we've had a surge in Supes' villains in JLU lately. They could be trying to get it out of their system before Superman Returns gets close.

Perhaps.

Though I will admit...for some reason, I like "The Batman"'s version of Clayface better than the TAS version.

I don't think he was the leader, as he only joined the League briefly.
