Mik 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 So, quick poll: Is 40 year old virgin going to be funny or awful? Leaning toward funny, but it has the possibility of being a total bomb.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Well, I guess the movie really was Stealth because nobody saw it. And for some reason, I want to go see Red Eye.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted August 14, 2005 It'll be your standard slapstick romantic comedy that you wont remember anything of it the next morning. I'll go check it because it has the potential.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Hmm, doesn't look like Fantastic 4 is going to get near Batman Begins (199 million), so that's a good thing. I'm still depressed that Duece Bigilow made even 9.4 million. 40 Year Old Virgin is going to rock. Steve Carell can do no wrong.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Seriously, yeah, I love Steve Carell. I can't wait for Friday.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Seriously, yeah, I love Steve Carell. I can't wait for Friday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Carell is great but I'm still uncertain if he can carry a whole movie by himself.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Not really. You got me. Carell is great but I'm still uncertain if he can carry a whole movie by himself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm certain he can't.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 The director is the guy behind Undeclared, so I'm confident this should be good.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I'm certain he can't. He has a good comedic director behind him, was hilarious in Bruce Almighty and Anchorman, is hilarious on the Office and has a really good supporting cast behind him. So why don't you think it can work?
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 For all the reasons you just listed.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Man, Y2Jerk just told you! I don't think it'll be as big as Wedding Crashers, but it'll do well.
Guest Smues Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Huzzah March of the Penguins still raking it in.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Four Brothers is a good movie to go on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and Marky Mark is one bad-motherfucker in it.
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I'm quite happy that Deauce Bigelow didn't do that good. Maybe now Hollywood will stop letting Rob Schneider have his own movies. 40 Year Old Virgin seems funny, though I've actually heard some good stuff about Red Eye. Sass 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Deuce Bigelow made money? That's just shocking to me. I thought people would be turned off by the unnecessary sequelization of another movie again.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I have a friend that saw an advanced screening of 40 Year Old Virgin. He said it's one of the funniest movies he's seen this year....then again he hasn't seen Wedding Crashers yet.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Yes! Four Brothers was great, good to see it make money.
Mole 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 The director is the guy behind Undeclared, so I'm confident this should be good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Judd Apatow? EDIT: I just looked it up and it is Judd. Judd was also an Executive Producer for Freaks and Geeks. Aww and that is why Seth Rogen is in it. He was in F&G and Undeclared. Now I have to see this movie. Dr. Zaius 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I have a friend that saw an advanced screening of 40 Year Old Virgin. He said it's one of the funniest movies he's seen this year....then again he hasn't seen Wedding Crashers yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please ask him to provide a list of all the movies he has seen this year so we will have an accurate point of comparison. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Yes, Judd Apatow. I'm going to see Deuce, just because of Norm's cameo. The critics who didn't give it zero stars, said Norm is hilarious.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 So, quick poll: Is 40 year old virgin going to be funny or awful? Leaning toward funny, but it has the possibility of being a total bomb. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The guys over at DVDTalk who have seen the movie already have been praising the hell out of it. They say that it's just flat out one of the funniest films ever. I thought it would be great the second I saw the trailer.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 I might check out the 40 Year Old Virgin, I have some movie cupons that are going to expire soon anyway.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Deuce Bigelow made money? That's just shocking to me. I thought people would be turned off by the unnecessary sequelization of another movie again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rob Schneider's movies pretty much always make money. I'd rather invest in his flicks than many of the recent "blockbusters".
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 Hey Bob, what do you know about this one? http://imdb.com/title/tt0457456/
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2005 People have been asking me, and I don't know much. Norm's trying to get back in the public eye again (Doing an appearance on the Tonight Show, and an East Coast comedy tour) so it wouldn't surprise me. Bill Murray being in it seems a bit off, even though it claims to be written by his brother. We'll see, but I won't get too optimistic since the last movie Norm was supposed to be in at imdb never happened.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Four Brothers was good. Mark Walhberg always equals the cash flow, well..sometimes anyway.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 Just got back from 4 Brothers, definetly a solid flick, ranging on great at times but there was something lacking. And by "something" I mean the language, sex and violence. When did Singleton get soft?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2005 I think it was when he produced "Woo".
