Of course, if you have been following it, the Raw Diva search came to an end last night with Ashley as the winner.

 

I find this funny, because it has been reported that like Amy Weber from last year Ashley has a mysterious background where she has apparently posed nude already as the "cyber girl of the month" for playboy.com for January 2004. What makes this weird is she goes by the name "Ryan Mckenzie" which there is no mention of that name at all on her current website. The guy who is reporting this on prowrestling.com says that the pictures are definitely of the same girl right down to the tattoos.

 

I say check it out yourself if you care enough to search it on google. If this is authentic then it will make the inevitable playboy shoot for WWE later this year or next year rather pointless. Also me personally I wanted Leyla to win, I find Ashley's hand pointing gesture every five seconds annoying as hell.

I didn't bother following the diva search at all this year (usually there's a baseball game or something more interesting on TV and I just switch to that during the segments), but at least the chick that won last night seemed like she was genuinely happy to win. Hopefully she actually wants to be in WWE like Christy Hemme and isn't just trying to springboard into acting or something like a lot of these other chicks always seem to be.

I don't know if people know, but every chick in the diva search this year with teh exception of Kristal, Elizabeth, and Leyla have nude pictures online. I'm sure WWE knew.

 

And people evidently forget Carmella was a PMOY or something and yet she made it to the end...hell that was one of the things they even hyped about her.

The way that she was celebrating for so long after winning I first presumed a Trish run-in was on it's way ... but then I realized that 1) Trish might get a face reaction for being a Canadian returning from a long layoff ... 2) attacking the diva winner would get a face reaction regardless of who it was running in and 3) they most likely want to keep Trish as the #1 female heel for now.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to make her a face again? Lita and Victoria are both heels ... leaving non-wrestlers as the only faces left.

Everyone knew about Carmella being in Playboy, she was one of Hef's girlfriends! WWE try to pick the chick that is most over and hasn't posed nude before, like Hemme. That's my point is this year was so bad for choice that they ended up picking a chick that got heavily booed by the Montreal crowd and has already posed nude.

 

So Ashley unlike Christy is not over and has already posed for playboy.

If even half of Ashley's excitement about winning the competition was real, I think the WWE did a good job with this one. They could use someone that's actually excited to be part of the roster.

 

The fact that I dug her doesn't make me biased at all. Nope, not even a little.

 

I'm already looking forward to next year's diva search. It's provided better and more consistent entertainment than anything else on raw in a few months now ... since Christian left, I'd guess.

WHAT?!?! This Diva Search was CRAP. I hated how it sucked up about 15+ minutes of programming time per week. When I tune into RAW I don't tune in to watch a T & A show, I tune in to watch wrestling. Get rid of these sluts and let's bury this competition once and for all.

Sorry, but I can't seem to like Ashley simply because of the pointing gesture she does every 5 seconds. It's annoys me a lot for some unknown reason.

The 15 minutes of Diva Search, as lame as it is, in no way contributes to the lameness of the other 1:50 they put on each week. Its lameness is self-contained, and thus tolerable because I also have the option of changing the channel until the segment is finished. In other words, I can stand having scantily clad women parade around for 15 minutes a show if it helps Vince pay the bills.

Yes, I watch Raw to watch wrestling, and I consider myself at casual fan at this point ... and watching Cena vs. Bischoff's stooges each week, or Jericho vs a ref, or Viscera being a sex machine, or Conway doing things the CON-way, etc etc etc is NOT the kind of wrestling that I care to see. If given the choice of watching near naked girls do stupid shit on TV, or watching near naked guys do stupid shit on my TV, I'll take the former pretty much every day of the week.

 

And, RedJed, I don't dislike Raw because X-tian left (truthfully, I haven't even watched one minute of Smackdown since he went there) ... I stopped finding Raw enjoyable a long time ago. But when Christian was there I knew that I had more than one thing that was pretty much guaranteed to be enjoyable. Now all I have is Shelton, and he's stuck jobbing in stupid feuds.
