So far the average match length is less than 8 minutes.

 

A 30 second squash fucks up the average- way to be.

No, you can't blame that average on just one match when the second and third longest matches of the night were under 5 minutes. Every match but one came in several minutes under the average length.

On paper this looked like one of the best summerslam in years.. On TV its a huge letdown.

 

Only a Jericho victory can save it now, and we already know whats happening there

It makes sense the way they've been going, Raw/Smackdown/Raw/Smackdown, and HBK Hogan was the main event a Raw show. It makes sense.

 

And considering that this card was pretty lackluster, I've been pleased with the show so far. My only complaint? No Christian.

Yup, No Way Out 2000, for the IC title.

The problem is that the booking of some of these short matches makes some sense, but they shouldn't be the kind of matches that are on a big four PPV like Summerslam.

 

Benoit vs. Orlando in regards to happenings and endings should have happened at the GAB. He's a former World Champion and 20 year veteran, of course he could take out Orlando. Then we could have had Benoit vs. Christian, Benoit vs. Booker, Benoit vs. Regal, etc, here instead of the squash we got.

 

Given the feud of Edge and Matt Hardy, it of course couldn't really be a technical match and as a knock down drag out fight it makes more sense to keep it short.

 

Even Angle-Eugene, though it could have gone on longer, probably couldn't realisticly last too long either given Dismore's character, Angle's experience and his anger at Eugene.

 

But like I said this was not neccesarily the place to do it.
