TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Just finished my first. Usually I use the Yahoo max per name, 4 teams at once, but this year I think I'm gonna stick with just one. Here's how I did. Sense Failure QB Brett Favre, GB QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pit RB Clinton Portis, Was RB Warrick Dunn, Atl RB Ronnie Brown, Mia WR Randy Moss, Oak WR Hines Ward, Pit WR Steve Smith, Car WR TJ Houshmandzadeh, Cin WR Mike Williams, Det TE LJ Smith, Phi K Mike Nugent, NYJ K Jeff Reed, Pit DEF Buffalo DEF Washington And I can't believe I actually spelled Houshmandzadeh right without looking. teke184 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 My team in my work league: Teke's Tigers RB Deuce McAllister RB Rudy Johnson QB Tom Brady WR Roy Williams WR Ashley Leile WR Eddie Kennison TE Todd Heap DEF Carolina K Matt Stover Backups RB Frank Gore RB TJ Duckett WR Mike Williams WR David Patten TE Doug Jolley K Lawrence Tynes My overall roster is good but I made at least two screwups... 1. No backup QB for Brady because I was trying to get Kurt Warner or Steve McNair late and, when I didn't get them, I figured it would be better to wait until a different team cut one of their three QBs. (One guy picked up Carson Palmer and Drew Brees then, when he figured out that both had the same bye week, also picked up Kyle Boller) None of the remaining QBs looks to be worth a crap unless I want to dumpster-dive for Patrick Ramsey, JP Losman, or a backup who may or may not start, so I figure I'm better off waiting a few weeks to see who gets cut or making a deal with someone for one of my backups. 2. Three of my WRs have the same bye week. I knew that Roy Williams and Mike Williams were off on week 3 but, when I was trying to pick my last backup, my top choices left the board right before my pick so I got flustered and picked up the best available WR, Patten, only to find out that he was off in Week 3 as well. I'm trying to trade Patten or Mike Williams for either a backup QB or a different WR.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 My draft is going slow right now, since we do picks via a message board. So far my team is Dante Cullpepper-Keeper Chad Johnson-keeper Marvin Harrison-Keeper Brian Westbrook Cadillac Williams Dallas Clark-now the #1 starter in Indy, should be huge Larry Fitzgerald Travis Henry Jerry Porter. Scary to consider that for my keepers last year I need to decide between Javon Walker, Chad Johnson, and Marvin Harrison.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Marc Bulger or Darrell Jackson; who would you keep? I share a money keeper league team with my brother-in-law and we're debating which one to keep (Jamal Lewis is our other keeper). He likes Bulger, but I want Jackson because he's on an incredibly potent Seattle offense (and is the only one that catches the ball frequently IIRC) and I think we can get a much better QB with the 6th pick in the first round. Help me out people.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Do you have to keep two players? Do you forfeit anything to have a keeper? Using my league as an example, if we have a keeper he is our 6th round pick, if you don't keep anyone you get a 6th round pick. If you do have to forfeit something, I wouldn't keep either player. If you don't, I would keep Jackson. I despise Bulger and think you could get a better QB in the 10th round. One keeper, who should it be: Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin? I am leaning towards Boldin as he has proven a bit more and I like his QB more (not saying much as Warner doesn't impress me, but still a point in his favor)

TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 In the case of drafting recievers, I usually try to get the clear cut number one guy from his team, but when it comes to Roy and Boldin, I'm not sure either of them are clear cut front runners, but at this point they are considered the top recievers on their squads. But guys like Charles Rogers, Mike Williams, and Larry Fitzgerald wil no doubt take lots of potential catches, yards, and TDs for them away.

Special K 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 SPINNING PILEDRIVER I LOVE my team. complete redraft, 12 teams, 4 keepers from now on. 9th pick. Randy Moss- WR Rudi Johnson- RB Lamont Jordan- RB Cedric Benson- RB Carson Palmer- QB (should have picked Favre, but I'm high on the Bengals. I think he'll make a very good keeper) Anquan Boldin- WR (fucking STEAL if he remains healthy) And then some stuff. LJ Smith, Pitt D, Jimmy Smith, Justin Mcairens, Ryan Longwell, Griese, some backup RBS. I think Lamont and Anquan are some kickass sleepers, and while Cedric was a bit of a risk, I get home and he's FINALLY fucking signed. I love my team. That's a hell of a team RRRSH, It's tough to have Priest w/o Larry Johnson, but I surmise you made a good pick in his place. Wow, Kahran, was that from a draft? That team's increible. notJames 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 My keeper money league draft was this Saturday. I drafted 8th out of a 12-team league. The 3-foot Italian sub was superb. Bad Mother Canuckers Franchise: Edgerrin James Rd. 01: Clinton Portis Rd. 02: Javon Walker Rd. 03: Michael Clayton Rd. 04: None (traded last season) Rd. 05: Carson Palmer Rd. 06: Brandon Stokley Rd. 07: Eagles DST Rd. 08: Mewelde Moore Rd. 09: Kurt Warner Rd. 10: Jason Elam Rd. 11: Heath Miller Rd. 12: Samie Parker I have to pick up one more player off the waiver wire today, and hopefully it will be one of these three WRs: Clarence Moore Tyrone Calico Greg Lewis I think my team is solid, but I don't really like my players. I had guys like Trent Green, Randy Moss and Hines Ward last season, and I really liked watching them play, etc. I'm not getting the same feeling from these guys. I can't explain it. I also echo Special K's sentiment -- Kahran's team is amazing. How big is your league, 4 teams?!? Anyhow, good luck to everyone this season! I'm sure I will be asking tons of FF questions as the season goes on.
Special K 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 One thing I've sort of been noticing in various leagies I'm privvy to/pro fantasy mock drafts is that people definitely underestimate the power of Priest with an LJ handcuff. Move LJ up to 5th round, no one should pick him, and you essentially have a back that ruins all other fantasy RBs. Best O line in football, and bost are insanely talented. Last year I rode a Priest/LJ comb (minus Blaylock, which hurt me) Curtis Martin and Joe Horn to a superbowl win. I'm really pumped to have a killer receiving core with Randy Moss and Boldin, Jimmy Smith and Justin Mcairens backing them up. Besides Horn, I was always scrambling for a second WR last year (I picked Boldin, and he got hurt) and I don't relish the thought again. Also my team is young. I figure Moss, R. Johnson, Lamont and Cedric are killer keepers, with Boldin sneaking in there depending on his performance/ how well LaMont and Cedric do. Lastly, I DID fuck up at one spot in the draft. I really like Carson Palmer, and think he's going to have a good year, and I'm a Bengals mark, so I reached for him in the 5th round. I could've had BULGER, which would have made my team easily the best in the league, if not for the fact that I hate the Rams (who always beat my beloved 'Hawks.) Never let personal preference cloud your draft choice.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 12 team Sportsline league. I'm not too sure about my team (doesn't seem as talented as last year's) that doesn't have a big gamebreaker at WR. Plus, I need a new QB since both mine have the same off week (I was running out of time on my pick and wanted a possible keeper). Anyway: Starters QB- Trent Green RB- Corey Dillon RB- Domanick Davis WR- Darrell Jackson WR- Isaac Bruce WR- Anquan Boldin TE- Eric Johnson K- Ryan Longwell Def/ST- Tampa Bay Reserves QB- Eli Manning RB- Fred Taylor RB- Mewelde Moore (here's hoping Minn. loses another RB) WR- Marty Booker (Damn Peerless Price for getting cut!) WR- Chris Chambers WR- Donte' Stallworth TE- Jeb Putzier (I could've sworn he'd be the Broncos starter) K- John Carney Def/ST- Cincinnati Can keep up to 2. If nothing else, I'll have my RB's set for quite a while.
