Da Maintenance Man Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 "GO SEXY! WHOOOO! YEAH!" "CENA! CENA! CENA! WHOOOO!" "You SUCK Jericho! You SUCK Y2CHEAP!" Urge to kill, RISING. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stuff like that is inevitable anyway. No point in really complaining about it. That's just one of the disadvantages of being in the minority.
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 SHE WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME AND WAS YELLING AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS AT A FUCKING SCREEN THAT HAD MOVING PICTURES ON IT. I got a headache from it. She physically hurt me through her stupidity. God I hate wrestling fans.
cabbageboy Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 The litmus test of this is coming next month, believe me. The Angle/Cena match is a major, major match in so many ways. I mean, Jericho got a large amount of the crowd and he was booked like a total jobber, never even doing anything worthy of getting a title shot. I've maintained that a lot of fans are ready to turn on Cena (not little kids but 20s-30s males) but haven't had much opportunity since he's been on Smackdown wrestling guys who the fans couldn't possibly respect (JBL, Jordan, Carlito when he debuted, Suzuki, Dupree). They put him in a with a jobbed out Jericho and the crowd was almost 50/50 to the point where they had Bischoff do every vile heel tactic in the rematch to ensure Cena wasn't booed. Angle is being booked as a very strong challenger from the look of things. I wouldn't be shocked if the crowd at Unforgiven turns almost totally on Cena and starts rooting for Kurt. Then what?
Fro Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Some kids being in the crowd is a very good thing. That means the business isn't going to die out. Those kids marking for Cena now hopefully will become the smarks of tommorrow. If Vince starts exclusively catering to kids (which he won't do) or the arenas get overran with them, then it'll be a problem.

Then what? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As long as Kurt is aligned with Bischoff I don't see that happening.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 23, 2005 Author Report Posted August 23, 2005 If Angle puts on the type of physical beating to Cena at Unforgiven that he did to Benjamin, Bischoff or not the fans will be behind Angle.
Jobber of the Week Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Bischoff/Cena skits all month long didn't do anything to keep half of DC from popping nuts for Jericho. No matter how many times Angle re-enacts the Olympics and how many Bischoff promos are made, I somehow think Oklahoma City, the crowd that actually jeers for JR matches for cryin' out loud, will be all that enthusiastic about a white boy rapper calling himself a thug. That sort of thing plays better on the coasts than it does in the heartland, just like how Eddie is the most over guy in the company on the west coast.
Si82 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 If Angle puts on the type of physical beating to Cena at Unforgiven that he did to Benjamin, Bischoff or not the fans will be behind Angle. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've gotta agree with you. The question is are the going to keep Angle strong by allowing him to beat the shit out of everyone up until the event itself?
cabbageboy Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Why change the push Angle is getting? The real problem is that if he is booked this strongly he really should win the title. The Bischoff connection is irrelevant unless Bisch constantly interferes in the match itself. I think the main reason for Bischoff to interfere on Raw last night was to prevent the fans from cheering Jericho much. Angle, if he's booked this strong, doesn't need Bischoff.
Guest Brian Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 If Angle gets that kind of physciality against Cena, it'll look like a squash. He'll come off too strong.
Guest deinly1 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 assume im a mark because ive liked cena since isaw him FU the bigshow twice in the same match, and fuck off if u think that feat of strength isnt "believable" for all u smarks. instant respect can be earned with one performance in my mind and that was one of them. lesnar got respect for similar feats- even tho i marked for him during his debut with heyman( big ecw fan here- after not watchin wrestling since like 90 catching one glimpe of ECW back in 98 had me hooked and brought me back to wwe when ecw died) angle is phenomenal- for many reasons- his endurance being one - he hits big strength move after another EX: triple germans, then still has the energy to sell everyones crap then hit his very tough finisher the angle slam before he goes into the angle lock. now lets say for one minute even tho i know u smarks= critical losers (who couldnt bench the bar by itself) couldnt never imagine this: but what IF cena actually looked credible in an old fashioned hold for hold wrestling match against angle? then would he get any respect from the same y2JERKoffs who were booing cena simply to "go against the grain" because i know they wouldnt be cheering y2j as hard if he were facing lets say.... christian? the thing that annoys me about smarks is they thing they know EVERYTHING cuz they read dirt sheets and saw a lot of matches. overly critical of everyone who does things they could never do >period< i dont think there is more than afew people on this board so far who i agree with even a little bit. most of u come off as bitter and jaded.

cabbageboy Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 In the end does it really matter how Angle is booked here? I think the Jericho feud showed that a guy booked for shit can still get half the crowd against Cena. Angle has already been booked stronger than Jericho ever was (squashed Eugene, beat Shelton down soundly).

Jericho got a lot of people behind him at SS, no doubt about that, but I doubt he himself drew any buys. Any buys that match got were for Cena.
Guest deinly1 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 hunters torn quad- Do you have a masters degree in english? In addition- I wasn't TRYING to lecture anyone. I made a statement regarding people's dislike for Cena, then asked a question regarding that misplaced hatred. When u have improved, forget about having MASTERED >reading< the english language typed out in my post- then u may attempt another half-assed flame post on me. Which by the way would have been funny if you werent serious about my grasp on communication thru text.

Guest deinly1 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 ok let me be DICK and look thru your posts with a fine tooth comb for spelling errors. doesnt hurt btw. and if u can understand what im saying enough to point out INTENDED spelling miscues, then why bother making a post to show me that u know what im trying to say when i use the words U instead of YOU must be another y2gay backer. his only defense for y2cheap's stale ass gimmick is to attack a conflicting viewpoint's spelling. kids on message boards lol- anyway back to my ufc 54 , let me KNO when u have something to say about my POST, NOT a WORD i USED within it mmmmmk? its a message board- not creative writing 101- which i got an A+ in btw.douchebags and if u think for a moment this will deter me from using U instead of YOU, ahahahahah post again about my spelling, professors. EDIT: after lookin thru grave's posts i see he uses proper grammar and capitalization in every single one. wow , well u must care alot more than me, no reason to be a tightass about it as if there are RULES about posting without caps or using widely accepted shortcuts like THRU.
CanadianChick Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 It has nothing to do with "caring too much". You just look like a 13 year old during an MSN conversation. It takes away from any credibility that your arguements have. If you don't care enough to communicate properly, why should we care what you have to say?
Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 U instead of YOU must be another y2gay backer. Yes, I'm a "y2gay backer". I want to suck Chris Jericho's penis. his only defense for y2cheap's stale ass gimmick is to attack a conflicting viewpoint's spelling. *His. Capital "H" at the start of a sentence. kids on message boards. Almost as bad as idiots on message boards. let me KNO when u have something to say about my POST, NOT a WORD i USED within it mmmmmk? YES U WOULD, that is why u attempt(poorly) to dispell my viewpoint in this way. You can't argue constructively on the topic at hand, so u resort to cheesey grade school tactics-------------EDIT, you're not WORTH the time it takes to tell you your an ass.
Guest deinly1 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Stop it now. Both of you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, no problem here. Consider it squashed.

Jobber of the Week Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Rather than attack your spelling like HTQ did, I'll address your points directly instant respect can be earned with one performance in my mind and that was one of them. lesnar got respect for similar feats- even tho i marked for him during his debut with heyman Lesnar got respect not just because he was strong, because there's a lot of guys in the locker room these days who are very strong, so many big men that the originals like Undertaker are starting to look medium-sized. The reason Lesnar became respected was because he learned a whole arsenal of big-man moves. Too many big guys wind up being a Kevin Nash clone where they rely on endless clotheslines, sidewalk slams, and headbutts when in control of the match. Brock, at his peak, was hanging with Eddie Guererro and keeping up with him and not being exhausted or run out of moves. even tho i know u smarks= critical losers (who couldnt bench the bar by itself) There's a lot of boxing analysts and experts who aren't in the physique to brawl, you know. then would he get any respect from the same y2JERKoffs who were booing cena simply to "go against the grain" because i know they wouldnt be cheering y2j as hard if he were facing lets say.... christian? Who knows why the crowd was booing Cena, it probably didn't have anything to do with his wrestling skills, though. He was getting attacked by the crowd before he had a chance. Also, the same crowd exploded for Hulk Hogan later, and he makes Cena look like a wrestling god when it comes to credibility. the thing that annoys me about smarks is they thing they know EVERYTHING cuz they read dirt sheets and saw a lot of matches. overly critical of everyone who does things they could never do >period< Do the hosts on ESPN look like serious athletes to you? Same thing. Roger Ebert isn't making movies but a lot of people want to know if he thinks a movie is good or not. Again, same thing.
