An Idea for Jordan/Benoit

Recommended Posts

Alright, Jordan/Benoit was my favorite match at SummerSlam, I loved how they put over how Benoit vowed to make Jordan tap out and Jordan said he would knock Benoit out. For a third match I would do an agnle where everyone says that Jordan has no chance in hell against Benoit. So during the third match for the first couple of minutes Benoit keeps trying to go to the crossface but on his 4th try as Benoit is grabbing one of Jordan's arms he connects with his other hand hard, knocking Benoit out at the 3 minute mark. So then we can build to another match, where they hype it as if Benoit locks in the crossface it's over, but if Jordan connects with a Left/Right Hook (which ever he used to knock Benoit out with) it's over. It gives both men something to do and elevates Jordan (even if he's not that great, it's better to elevate someone rather than no one).

Ack, why would you continue a Jordan/Benoit feud? That only serves to hurt BOTH performers. Jordan ISNT going to get over AT ALL, period - I dont care how he's booked or used, the guy has about an ounce of talent. Benoit only is served to get hurt by continuing to be paired off with Jordan. Case closed.

Trying to elevate anyone else on the roster in a program with Benoit is better than continuing this.

I remember this being said about Orton who is now one of SD's few legit main eventers.

Except Jordan's not exactly on the WWE's priority list as evident by the squash. Orton was their golden boy. Circumstances are a bit different. Just go away, clown.

I kinda like the idea, but where would they go from there? Jordan would have to have Ronnie Garvins "Hands Of Stone" finisher and everyone would have to sell the shit out of his punches.

Didn't Jindrak have a 'punch' for a finisher?

Yes, he used a spinning punch I think. Doesn't Jordan have a legit boxing background? If they really put over his knock out power he could get over fast.

The world doesn't need another Brawl For All.

Have JBL fire Jordan, and then he and Doug Basham can team up and go full fledged face, saying that they worried too much about JBL and it got them nowhere, so now they're focused on themselves. That way Jordan's ring time is minimal, Basham is a good worker and very good promo, and you've got another tag team on your hands (with a reason for teaming as well)...something that's needed.

This would not get either man over, the tag team division is dead and buried. The champions don't face real oppenents and the #1 heel team currently exists as a backdrop to a mole.

If Orlando Jordan beat Cena, Batista, Carlito and Benoit for all 4 major singles titles on the same night in squashes, he still wouldn't be over. The guy is truly a lost cause.

I am amazed anyone would have the balls to suggest Orlando Jordan should get another win of ANY kind over Chris Benoit. That was kinda the whole point of that SS squash: "Sorry dudes, we fucked up, see now we'll have Benoit squash this jobber."

I think Jordan is on the margin for being released. It's just a matter of time before JBL fires him as Chief of Staff (replacement maybe Val Venis or dare I say bring back Ron Simmons?) and after that whatever residual heat OJ had will be gone.

Jordan is literally the most worthless guy on either roster. He can't wrestle, can't brawl, can't do aerial, has zero mic skills, zero charisma. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who can't do ANYTHING on the roster. Hell even Tomko had some moments with Christian.

I have a better idea. Have Benoit kill Jordan in the ring. it'll be kayfabed, of course, but it gets OJ off WWE TV and makes Benoit look like a badass again. They can gimmick the ring, have Benoit powerbomb him and break his neck or something. Might as well piss off UPN as much as you can before they cancel SD.

Well Orton actually HAS talent compared to Jordan, who hasnt had an impressive match ever by my eyes. He has ZERO charisma and his mic skills are fucking horrid.

Orton, even back when he started in WWE, at least could work a match properly.

I'm no big fan of Orton but he's a lot, lot better than Orlando. The guy at least has offense more complex than a friggin punch or armbar. He can at least cut an actual promo with more than "I'm gonna knock you out" involved (The RNN updates were classic).

If they had a prolonged Benoit/Regal feud, people would bitch. Eventually it will just turn into the Benoit/Sullivan feud that won't end part 3. The second was played by Benoit/Finlay.

The point is to breath some life into the division. Some of the best tag teams in history (Hollywood Blondes, NAO) were guys paired together because the company had nothing better for them. Not saying a combo like Basham/Jordan could strike gold, but it'd be better than Jordan vs. Funaki, round 67, on Velocity.

Yeah but here's the thing: Austin and Pillman were good wrestlers and thus it actually mattered. The Road Dog and Billy Gunn were struggling but at least Roadie showed some charisma with Jarrett (and was pretty decent on the USWA I might add) and Billy Gunn had several title runs with Bart.

Jordan and Basham? Unless they get some out of this world gimmick there is no reason to care. They both suck, have no heat, have shown little potential to draw any heat.

Basham does not suck. Not in the slightest. Anyone who has seen him work in OVW can tell you that. Basham, and you can say this about almost everyone in WWE, works a hell of a lot better if you just let him go out there and work his ass off.
