devo Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Oh, yeah. The Masked Man wore a mask. Obviously. Also, dude, we've had two Mexican/lucha-ish wrestlers in the whole history of the fed. El Luchadore Magnifico (And he's a silly man that added an 'e' to the end of luchador for some unknown reason) and El Loco Hombre who sucked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I had it spelled incorrectly for about a year and a half into my career.
King Cucaracha Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Indeed. Bo should give it a shot and see how it goes. I'd recommend at least that to anyone, because the worst that happens is you don't dig it and leave again. Also, as a Spaniard, Landon Maddix is semi-lucha. I actually tried to draw a little of the character from ELM when I joined up (ie, I stole the idea of a Spanish influenced luchadore style wrestler with a foriegn sounding nickname).
Bruce Blank Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Yeah, I had it spelled incorrectly for about a year and a half into my career. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now THAT is funny I guess I've just got a thing for masks - well at least I can face Ghost Machine and get some "mask psychology" in
JJ Johnson Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Bruce, you list all of those masked guys...and you don't say Vader or Mankind? Or Chainsaw Charlie, which was an awful gimmick, but was Terry Funk? And I realize Charlie's "mask" was not so much a mask as it was a pair of pantyhose pulled over his head, but whatever.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I forgot about Xstasy as eXodus. Or eXcalibur, or whatever.
Golgo 13 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Sigil had a mask, but he's barely worth mentioning. There was also Beezel and Atlas.
the.weej Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 ...who are also barely worth mentioning. -Z
Bruce Blank Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Well my list wasn't supposed to be comprehensive listing of all masked men but Mankind is another good example of the mask adding to the character. Vader's leather jockstrap always made me giggle a little (the helmet was bad ass though! Not enough steam emitting helmets in wrestling any more)
Rawknight Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 What about Va'aiga's phantom of the opera noseguard mask? Does that count?
The Ill One Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Andrew Rickmen is still at large.
