CanadianGuitarist Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 I did a similar thread about 3 months ago, with 'favourite sports moments'. What thus far, has been the most memorable sports moment? What has been the biggest disappointment so far? I'm gonna say, and this sounds ridiculous, but I was merchandising a little mom and pop variety store and I heard 'THE NHL LOCKOUT IS OVER' on the radio. Failing that, there wasn't much to dislike about the wonderfully entertaining Super Bowl, the AFC championship, or Phil Mickelson's second major win, and certainly it was certainly great to see Jack Nicklaus birdie the final hole of his career. On the opposite spectrum, while these are kinda shitty answers, everything involving Terell Owens this off season, and Mike Weir's disappointing 2004.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 I assume this is meant to cover 2005?
the max Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 I don't know if I have a memorable moment so far this season. I didn't watch the Superbowl, the Red Sox have been very good, if not lacklustre so far. A few walk-off homers, probably most notably Ortiz's two this year so far. If I were really pressed, I'd say some of the NHL signings have been completely off the wall (Forsberg to the Flyers, the Heatley/Hossa trade). For biggest disappointment so far, I'd say the Red Sox/Yanks v. American League. The AL is a complete toss-up and it worries me as a Sox fan.
razazteca Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The Saints and the Sugar Bowl might be moving to San Antonio.
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The Saints and the Sugar Bowl might be moving to San Antonio. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your favorite moment of the year is a hurricane.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The Saints and the Sugar Bowl might be moving to San Antonio. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You will inherit the team that will always be branded as "The team that stuck the knife deeper into the heart of New Orleans". Just wait a couple years. The world will be fine without the Alamo City Saints. Let the city of NO have something to hope for and get behind... The Saints need to be in Baton Rouge for the time being and not San Antonio. and why do you want the Saints anyways? Have you seen them play the last decade?
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Favorite moment so far was Mickelson winning the PGA Championship.
CanadianChris Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 My favourite is probably the lockout ending. Others I considered were USC destroying Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, and Tiger winning the Masters (with the ultimate made-for-TV putt on 16).
Fökai Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 and... No real bad moments this year, besides Terrell Owens badmouthing McNabb soon after their Super Bowl loss.

Just wait a couple years. The world will be fine without the Alamo City Saints. The owner is a used car salesman....gotta love that. Let the city of NO have something to hope for and get behind... Still got the Hornets and why do you want the Saints anyways? Have you seen them play the last decade? The Jim Mora era was good.
