Guest jm29195 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Who in your opinion is the most famous wrestler to never work in the WWE or WCW atone time or another? New Jack? Shark Boy? Who do you think it is? Sharky wrestled in WCW a few times. Did Kid Kash? Kid Kash had an official debut on WCW programming maybe a week or two before WWE bought them out. Kash also did the post ECW ONS Heat tapings, loosing to Taijiri, is he under WWE contract now?

IWD 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 If you take people from Japan, Mexico, and NWA doesn't count as WCW, then the list is ridiculously long. Sabu, Styles and Daniels all worked in WCW. Lo-Ki and Samoa Joe have also both worked jobs for Heat/ Velocity/ Jakked/ Metal, etc. That said, there haven't been many US-based wrestlers that haven't working for one of the big guns... Most of them did work for the NWA but not WCW... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Blackwell's big enough to get named here, how could you skip the immortal Greg Gagne? Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Probably not "the most famous" but Austin Idol was a pretty big name in US wrestling at one point who never worked for WWF or WCW as far as I know. A few others I can think of: - Bob Roop - Gino Hernandez - Bill Dundee (maybe he was in WCW for a match or two...I'm not sure) - Masato Tanaka (excluding ECW One Night Stand) As far as Bruiser Brody, I believe he had some matches against Bruno Sammartino in WWWF, but not WWF. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I'm glad that someone named Gino, I was going to add him to my more serious reply ... I referenced Gagne earlier, but he's not famous for good reasons, he's famous for being pushed by his old man. My actual responses would be either Brody, Gino, or Chris Adams. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Hey, it's not exactly good information to have on hand. A guy I loved growing up (even as a young kid I loved the Hernandez/Adams team for some reason) used in squashes to push guys like The Barbarian, Brian Knobs, or Glacier? I need to find my old tape with the Hernandez turn and the "blinding" of Adams. That was such great stuff.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I was always surprised that Dynamic Duo (Gino & Adams) never got called up to the NWA. They'd have been a perfect fit, and could have had awesome feuds with the Fantastics or RnR Express. There's a part of me that thinks that Tully & Gino had a falling out when they were tag partners, and Tully got in Flair and Dusty's ears and kept them out of the NWA. But there's a part of me that thinks that the beef was an Apter mag creation and not the real deal. And I full-on agree, Zack. The 'blinding' angle was excellent. If Gino hadn't OD'ed they could have milked that angle for a long-ass time.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 HTQ, I didn't realize that Adams was selected to come up to the NWA. I only remember a handful of UWF guys that were deemed worthy of sticking around after the acquisition, and I remember even fewer that were given a reasonable chance to get over. You wouldn't have noticed him if you weren't really looking out for him. Mitsuharu Misawa Lou Thesz Misawa was in the NWA for the 1986 Crockett Cup, as Giant Baba's tag team partner. Thesz worked one house show for the WWF in 1987, winning a Legends battle royal. He also refereed at least one Roddy Piper vs. Jimmy Snuka match.

I read in Obsessedwithwrestling.com that Vince McMahon had offered Kevin Von Erick 50,000 for his library but Von Erich deemed it too low. You got Kerrys win over Flair for the World Title, Freebirds v Von Erichs, Kevin vs Adams, Jake the Snake vs the Von Erichs, Andre, Brody, Steve Austins wrestling debut. I would hold out for more money too.
