Silence Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Anyone know know what is going on with him these days? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hassan, along with Daivari, were taken off of Smackdown in July by a request from UPN after the controversy (London bombing in the same week) with WWE doing a "terrorist" segment with masked wrestlers in camo choking The Undertaker with piano wire. This was done after Hassan "prayed to Allah" for them to run out to the ring. This all happened after an Undertaker vs. Daivari match due to Hassan using Daivari as a "sacrifice". The masked guys then carried a beaten Daivari up in the air like a martyr, which took the segment even further. Hassan then had his last WWE match at the GAB against The Undertaker. Hassan lost and was then "killed off" by The Undertaker with a Last Ride through the stage. News was reported here on TSM that Hassan was considering giving up wrestling and going into acting, although I later found out in an update that WWE is now thinking about repackaging Hassan and Daivari under new characters, but are still being kept off of TV at this time.
2GOLD Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Just put them in the FBI with Vito and Nunzio. Make it a little heel group with Hassan as the new leader. He can even use the Hassan character and say the WWE forced him into the role because they didn't want him to be who he truly was.
cabbageboy Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 It won't work though. People will shit all over him the moment he blathers on about being forced into being Muhammed Hassan. The cheap heat Arab act is the crutch he had going for him...without that his mic work has no point and he's a highly mediocre wrestler.
SuperJerk Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 I believe he has a bright future ahead of him as Conquistador #99. Or maybe he could be the new Mr. America.
Vampiro69 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 He could go under a mask and be one of the Viano's from Mexico.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Or maybe he could be the new Mr. America. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd LOVE to see that, for some sick and morbid reason.
claydude14 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 As a fan of the Mr. America gimmick, I think it'd be a great way to re-introduce Hassan.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 The only problem with Hassan as Mr. America II is that he may not be able to use "Real American" as his theme.
claydude14 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 They'd have to sell Mr. America II as the original Mr. America. Have Vince come back and say "You're lying! You're not Mr. America, Mr. America was Hulk Hogan! I know who you are, you're Muhammad Hassan!" then set up a lie detector test segement where Mr. America tells the truth when he says he is the same Mr. America and not Hogan or Hassan. It's just what Smackdown's been missing since Mr. America left.

Guest Phoenix Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I think that Vince should have said fuck UPN. He is getting a new deal with USA for Raw anyway. He could have worked something out for SD aswell. Hassan has all the right in the world to be pissed about and think about quiting from the business. Just have him lose the contenders match and send him back to RAW. All he did was what the shitty writing team of 14 people told him to do. I thought the angle was not offensive at all, and that he had/still has more potential than most people on the roster. He had the perfect gimmick, good mic skills, natural heat, and he was getting better in the ring. Vince just blew it on this one. He runined a the guys carrer, and they just pretend it never happened.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 USA don't want the mess that comes with having the Hassan character. They also don't want Smackdown.
Just John Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Am I the only one who thinks Hassan and Daivari should come back and destroy Palmer Canon? I think that would be funny.
Stephen Joseph Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Just so you all know, Hassan isn't wrestling right now. I wish I could tell you more, but he asked for us not to talk about what he's up to right now.
bob_barron Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Is he plotting a terrorist attack?
Boon Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Is he plotting a terrorist attack? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All too easy.
Guest Trecko Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Am I the only one who thinks Hassan and Daivari should come back and destroy Palmer Canon? I think that would be funny. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That'd be a nice way of sayin fuck you to the network. But so far they've had Long and Canon seeming like buddies, which I don't get at all. But it'd be nice to see them arguing in the ring over shit that Canon thinks is offensive or something, and for Hassan's music to start playin out of nowhere and for them to fuck up Canon, then turn around and attack Long. Or, have them attack Long, and team them with the network on some next shit. It'd be a way of repackaging them, I guess.
SuperJerk Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 The only problem with Hassan as Mr. America II is that he may not be able to use "Real American" as his theme. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe they could use Hogan's knock-off WCW music.

Vyce Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Fuck that - give him Dusty's old "American Dream" theme music. Words can't describe how hard I'd mark for that.

I wish I could tell you more, but he asked for us not to talk about what he's up to right now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you ever give sources for news like this? And who is "us"?
Boon Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Don't you know? SJ has the inside track w/ Hassan. Hmmm.
Stephen Joseph Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) Mark is a good friend of a good friend, that's all it is. Edited September 13, 2005 by Stephen Joseph
cabbageboy Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 On a side note, what exactly IS going to happen with Smackdown next year? I think we're all assuming UPN is going to ditch WWE when the contract is up....so what then?
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Mark is a good friend of a good friend, that's all it is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, the old *nudge nudge* friend of a friend deal.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Smackdown will find a home, either with a different network or on internet like TNA has been doing with Impact.
claydude14 Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Make Smackdown! and internet brand? Ugh. Hopefully TNA picks up some ratings so that some other channel won't be afraid of picking up wrestling when UPN ditches Smackdown! .
Dandy Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 I would like to see FX pick up Smackdown.
Silence Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 I would like to see FX pick up Smackdown. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you sure most satellite providers pick that channel up? I haven't checked lately.
