Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Well, therein lies the dilemma. What exactly is Angle going to do if he doesn't win the title against Cena? Really, what is there on the horizon for him? The face side on Raw is horrible and there isn't much for him to do. Besides Cena you have the old guys (Michaels, Flair) and Angle vs. Michaels is over for now. Angle's already squashed Shelton. Who else is there? Van Dam when he gets back? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see a DQ finish at Unforgiven, and Cena winning a stipulation rematch at TT. Then maybe Angle feuds with a babyface HHH? HHH takes that feud and moves into a feud with Cena, unless they can work Hogan/Cena for WM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so would cena turn heel then (if HHH comes back as a face I mean)

But Vince did nearly cripple himself, so there was some positive! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As a whole, I thought the action was better and more entertaining then 2004's version which got wrongly praised for being the best Rumble since 2000 and even compared to 1992. The finish to 2005 was so piss-poor it almost hurt it, while 2004, a lesser overall match had the more compelling finish.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 The Rumble had possibly the best crowd reactions of the year, for the Raw/Smackdown fight, the Hassan beatdown and the Cena/Batista showdown. The botched finish didn't help and there wasn't enough drama (Benoit entered #2 and lasted right until near the end, but disappeared for much of it and was hardly mentioned by JR or Tazz as lasting a long time), but if we're nominating over-rated nothing like Angle/Jannetty and Angle/Flair, might as well throw this in. Aero 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 I loved the Rumble this year, but certain aspects bring it down a few notches for me. Obviously, the botched ending. One particular lack of continuity that annoyed me was there being zero interaction between Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair, or even Batista. Then, Flair getting to eliminate Benoit was quite anticlimatic given that he was in there from the start. If it was any other main eventer, fine, but Flair was basically nothing more than a joke entrant. Other stuff was fantastic, though... + Raw vs. Smackdown + Hassan's elimination + Edge and Rey Mysterio's performances + London's sick elimination + Angle's parts
