The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread

Recommended Posts

Loblaw looking at his pager when Super Dave went "BEEP BEEP BEEP" was fantastic.

Not at the level of last week's, but still a great episode.

Hey, it's an episode where they have Bob Einstein acting like an ass. I'll take it.

New episodes return OCT 31st after baseball!

I guess they could change their mind, but as of right now the best TV show of all time is safe and sound. If they can just make it through the entire third season, I would be happy. I want the show to continue for years and years, but I'll take anything that I can get.

October 31st can't get here soon enough!

Is the "In Case You Missed It" section of the AD website new this season?

G.O.B: Take a look at banner, Michael!

(Banner: FAMILY LOVE MICHAEL)

Tobias: G.O.B., these are roofies!

Lucille: Those are illegal!

G.O.B: Don't make me give you another one of these, Mom.

Oh no, not Fox Fridays. Fox Fridays is where shows go to die.

However, the show is already dying, so i guess taking a gamble on a Friday move is ok. Maybe AD will tap into a niche market and become a Fox Fridays hit like X-Files did.

I actually think that moving it to Friday nights is a good idea. The expectations for that night are much lower than for a Sunday or Monday. I could see the show lasting for a good while on that night.

And maybe the Houston Texans will become a competent team this year...

GOB, as a character, has evolved so well from narcissistic jackass to creepily alternating between arrogance and supplicance that I can understand how new viewers could be turned off. They're missing out. Just so far this season he has SO many good lines. And a lot of them are great because of WA's comedice acting.

You taste my sad!

The 'the one thing I will never do is tell him I'm taking him to a cabin and then not take him!' bit.

His interaction with Steve Holt(!) about the boy with the severed hand. They seemed so natural.

His pornographic line reading of "that son of a bitch" in the pilot.

"Maybe it's love." I know what an erection feels like, Michael!

His shitty dog jokes, so happily come upon and forced to get out (lest he blow a brain cell) that it recalls the "Should, sh-sh should shouldy should should' outburst (which had me rolling, since he sounded exactly like a friend of mine when he gets drunk.)

Alive... and soft. Soft and alive.

Don't make you give me another one of these, mother!

Take a look at banner, Michael!

Take this and love us again!

I will.... I will.

Television shows come and go. I'll admit I only tuned into the second season of AD because I like Cross and Tambor. i immediately bought the first season DVDs. Good place to start.

This is the first show I've ever loved, to say I contributed to an online petetion. And watched every episode at LEAST twice, because that's the only way you get the subtle jokes. If AD goes to the shitheap, it will still be my favorite show ever, unless something like the first few seasons of the Simpsons wows me with it's hilariousness.

I sadly, and hopefully think that AD will get this season, and that's it. Which is more than I expected.

It's the funniest show ever. No debate. It's outwardly hilarious, yet delivers punchlines episodes before the joke. So fucking good.

After watching "Out on a Limb" (an episode I wasn't really crazy about at first), I wish we could see more Tobias/Lucielle interaction. Lucielle's response to Tobias' explanation on her denial is so good.

"You're a worse psychiatrist than you are a son-in-law, and you will never get work as an actor because you have no talent."

So who else bought the season 2 DVD? I got it yesterday and watched the first 6 episodes. 'Afternoon Delight' (the one with the office christmas party) is so hillarious.

I did, mostly to support the show since I've seen every episode there 3 times (except for the shitty-by-AD-standards 'Ready, Aim, Marry Me')

The commentary's nice, though Bateman, Tambor and Portia aren't on them this time around. Arnett and Cross are funny on them, though. They have commentary on 'Ready, Aim, Marry Me' where they acknowledge the backlash to it. God, Martin Short will ruin anything he's in.

Man. I LOVED 'Ready, Aim, Marry Me.' I've only seen it once, but I thought it was hillarious and I liked Martin Short in it. That was one of my favorite episodes and I don't see the "backlash" against it.

It has some of the best Tobias lines ever:

Tobias: Well, yes, but I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, if you will, so now I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.

Michael: There are just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence.

Tobias: Oh. Can you imagine how jealous that would make her? “Where’s Tobias?” “Oh, he’s just sharing a romantic horseback ride with Michael Bluth, and they’re dipping each other in...” Oh, you didn’t get any body chocolate?

I love each and evey episode of all 3 seasons of Arrested Development, but for the record my favorites are 'Pier Pressure,' the one with Heather Graham (can't remember name), and 'Meet the Veals.

Has anyone been rewatching the eps from this season? There's some great little bits, like GOB avoiding Steve Holt and then offering a bystander a "vitamin".

Also:

George Micheal - Oh, it's just a stupid girl problem.

Michael - Well, I don't even have a girl, much less a stupid one.

That's from episode 1, before he meets Rita.

Sad, needy and overly emotional GOB is so much better than dickwad GOB.

From the finale of season 1:

G.O.B (breaking down)

I’ll handle this one, Michael. Don’t you worry. It will take a lot more than a heart attack to kill that old bear. Old bear! He likes the honey. He never got a chance to see my bee business take off.

Michael:

Come on, now, Dad’s going to be around another 30 years, G.O.B. Your business, uh, might not.

G.O.B.:

You’re a good brother, Michael. Heart attack never stopped old Big Bear.

That kills me every time

Yeah I felt the same way. I've always had Mr. Humphries in some shape or form, but Franklin's better. Plus thats like one of my favourite scene from the second series.

Here are some more. Some may be too large for a sig or avatar, so if you want any with a smaller file size, just say so. If you have any requests, let me know:
