Skywarp! Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Like at the Kerrang! Awards, System is once again the best band there.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Actually, the AMA's is more accurate then the MTV and Grammys are. I say this because AMA's dont make up a pretense that it's honoring the "best" but rather "America's favorites". Still a bunch of shit there but It's more honest then the Grammy's.
Ravenbomb Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 • Male artist: 50 Cent, Will Smith, Rob Thomas • Female artist: Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani Is there ANYTHING that's actually rock in there?
The Amazing Rando Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 You can predict most of the winners by looking at the categorial album and artist nominees and then seeing if they rank in the "big awards". Mariah Carey looks to be walking away with at least two awards unless she is shut out COMPLETELY.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Will Smith over 50. Make it happen, AMA's.
2GOLD Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Alternative: • Favorite artist: Coldplay, Green Day, System of a Down Christ, what a shitty list of nominees. This one took the cake though. Cannot believe I'm saying this...but come on Coldplay. Now I have to go sit in the shower for a few hours after saying that. Fuck.
Guest xSarahx Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Pop/Rock: • Female artist: Mariah Carey, Ciara, Fantasia <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It took me a moment to remember who that is. I usually pay attention to the AMA nominees each year but these are completely under-whelming. I couldn't care less who wins.

Fuck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> None of those bands are alternative.
Gary Floyd Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Eh, it's the AMA's. Never really cared about them.

Fuck. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> None of those bands are alternative. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well 50 Cent isn't rock/pop and last time I checked Maroon 5 isn't adult contemporary. I think the AMA's just decided they didn't feel like writing a bunch of different names and gave up by the time they got to the rock/pop catergories.
Henry Spencer Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Maroon 5, that is. It was supposed to quote you, and it didn't work, and I don't feel like fixing it.
Black Lushus Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Kanye West apparently cares about the AMAs...
2GOLD Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Maroon 5, that is. It was supposed to quote you, and it didn't work, and I don't feel like fixing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll tell you when I figure it out. They feel more pop than Adult Contemp. I mean come on, AC is Nora Jones, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion and John Mayer. There is no way Maroon 5 fits in that.
The Czech Republic Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Maroon 5 is soccer mom-friendly. They can sneak in there. Coldplay, as well, for that matter.
