Didn't see a thread so I'd figure I'd start it. Tonight on PPV, Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver are facing off in the rubber match of their 3 fight series. Meanwhile on Showtime, James Toney, in his first match since testing positive for steroids, goesagainst Dominick Guinn and Chris Byrd takes on trialhorse DaVaryl Williamson.

What's everybody's predictions and thoughts on these big fights. This is the first time in my memory, that Showtime and HBO have put on major cards on the same night. Reminds me of when NWA used to put Clash of The Champions on free TV on WrestleMania night.

I actually watched that fight tonight, first big live boxing match I've watched in a while. Why didn't Tarver just kill Jones? Was he afraid of him fighting out from underneath or something? Watching Jones fight was like watching a caged animal try to resist a bunch of cattle prods. He still got whooped though.

Toney proved himself to be at least the second best heavyweight on the planet. Chris Byrd is nothing but an embarrassment. Next month Vitali and Rahman will fight for the legit heavyweight title. Between last night and next month we should have a pretty good handle on the top 5 heavies...and hopefully they fight each other next year.

Roy says he will fight again (which is sad), Tarver says hed give him another rematch (which is also sad).

I would have bought this PPV if it wasnt for the Diego Corralles/Jose Luis Castillo rematch being next weekend, and for my money's worth, that will be the better fight.

I am still undecided on whether I want to plop down the cash for Vitali/Rahman fight. I know it is considered to be the fight to declare THE top Heavyweight Boxer, but I still dunno if it will be worth the cash.

Wladimir just barely survived a close one.

Vitali will embarass Rahman, I feel. The guy's just so much more solid than his brother, and Rahman's never struck me as too dangerous. He can be rough if underestimated, but everyone knows he can sneak in knockout punches sometimes, so I don't see him being able to utilize that here.

Why is this loser (Roy Jones Jr) still fighting? I thought he retired last year after his embarassing loss. Funny how there has been like no news about Roy Jones Jr since then until the past week.

There's never any boxing news. In any case, Jones hardly embarassed himself. He lost to the best light heavyweight in boxing. If Jones didn't have his reputation, he would be applauded for putting together a gutsy effort against a top-flight boxer.
