iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 I don't care much about most of the week's games, but I do have one thing to say. Vinny Testaverde is Moses. He may be old, but he's still the fucking man, and he's going to lead the Jets to the promised land of the playoffs. The Bucs are going down this week, count on it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Told ya. The Jets are back.
devo 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Give Testaverde his much-deserved props, but you gotta admit that the Jets' defense won that game. Even with Williams out, TB shoulda scored more than 12 points, and Ty Law's timely interception was basically the difference between a win and a loss today. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Eagles defense keeps this up they are going to put Bledsoe in the Pro Bowl. Christ, they were picked clean in that first half. 242 yards passing and 72 yards rushing....damn.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 atlanta just got fucking robbed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the rule is that if the referees call a guy out of bounds and blow the whistle, the play is dead and unchallengeable. That's only a challenge if the coach believes the runner steps out but the referees don't call it. Can the Patriots stop ANYONE on 3rd down? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but it was obvious that he didn't step out. The ref let the Patriot sideline make the call for them. Good game for Schabb though as he abused the Pats Defense in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. Plus I got to see a 58 yard field goal. That Schabb step out call and the Rossum pass interference call ended up making the game.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 In terms of performance, I would put the Panthers' Steve Smith right up there with the other top wide receivers in the NFL. He is amazing to watch.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Wow, Cowboys unleashed a whooping on the Eagles. That was shocking. Meanwhile the Redskins are losing in Denver meaning the entire NFC East will be seperated by one game with the Eagles officially in last before the bye. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Well lets see..I didnt see the Ravens game, but from what I can tell, the Refs blew the fumble call that led to Jones picking up 20+ yards, and they also blew the TD call where they never blew the whistle despite the fact that the forward progress was stopped for a good 5 seconds or so. Im gonna be the first one to come out and just say it. Brian Billick needs to go. He has lost the team..obviously..when they commit 21 penalties in a game that they should have won.. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Alex Smith's first start: 9 for 23, 74 yards, 4 interceptions. Um ya he wasn't ready. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not sure why they started him against the fucking Colts. Why didn't they just put a gun in his mouth and pull the trigger? Also, after seeing the highlights of the Titans-Texans, I hereby lift my blame from David Carr. He didn't even have one second to throw the ball. WHAT the hell are they spending money on??? His line looks like they were more concerned with locating the cotton candy vendor in the crowd than throwing a pass block.

Even with Williams out, TB shoulda scored more than 12 points, and Ty Law's timely interception was basically the difference between a win and a loss today. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There were a lot of games that the Jets defense would have won this year if there was a competent healthy quarterback that wasn't hemmoraging the ball back to the other team every time he touched it. That's honestly why I thought an average QB like Vinny could turn them around. Their defense has been solid all year long; it's just that the offense has been so useless that it was pretty much impossible for them to win a game.

Trash talking and throwing your weight on him only makes him run hus mouth more and thus he gets MORE motivated and more dangerous. To defeat Johnson, you must ignore his mouth. He is arrogant and cocky but on a "fun" level, doesn't have greed and ego issues (he is best friends with his QB and he eats McDonald's everyday) and he isn't an off the field headache. I remember when Chad came into the NFL and everyone simply called him "Keyshawn's cousin". Does anyone even know who Keyshawn is anymore? Chad clearly is the better WR for that family. He's a fun and great player on the field that isn't an embarassment to his team like Moss or TO and has a charisma and personality that motivates the team unlike Harrison. I don't know if Chad Johnson is the *best* WR right now but he's the most entertaining.

AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Do the Jags CBs get a checkmark this week for stopping Chad Johnson? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not anymore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, Mathis does get a check. Chad himself said the corner needed to stop/cover him once in a game, so unless he wants to tapdance around what he said, Rasheen gets a check.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 The Colts better beat the crap out of the jobbers on the schedule because after the bye week it gets a lot tougher, what with NE on the road, Steelers, Chargers, Cincy, Seattle. Sigh, why do I sense the Colts first loss being the Patriots? And just wondering but why do teams just let Brady and Vinatieri constantly do this shit to them (Steelers recently, Falcons today)? I'd think someone would just flat out do a cheap shot and take Brady out or take out Vinatieri's legs after a point. Honestly, why can no one stop this lame "Patriots get tied by ______ and then go down and get a game winning FG" formula? It's so repetitive and tiresome. I didn't see the game, but for fuck's sake when you let someone complete 22 out of 27 passes, that's a sign you're getting worked by the QB all game long.
