devo Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 It looked like it went right over the plate, and that the first contact he made was with his folded left foot, well after he had been tagged. Seeing as how Pujols is coming up with the bases loaded, that could be a game-changing call. Edit: And Astacio walks him. 2-0 Cards.
The Czech Republic Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Holy shit, playoff baseball got deuced for GOLF.
Big McLargeHuge Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Astacio looks like he's got a nervous tick or something.
devo Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Story of this game is just like yesterday's. Padres slowly but surely give up runs and squander scoring opportunities until they find themselves far behind with three outs left. Only difference this time is that Padres didn't have the flare of offense they showed in the top of the ninth yesterday. Cardinals win 6-2 and go into San Diego with a 2-0 lead.
Guest Smues Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 And the instant the game ends they quickly start showing another ESPN movie. The odd thing is I've only seen I think an ad for this thing once, maybe twice. Every other ESPN movie I've seen the promo 10,000 times before it airs.
devo Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Seriously? They've been promoting the hell out of it for at least a month now. Not that the ads were particularly annoying, since it seemed to be the best bit of ESPN Original Programming yet.
Precious Roy Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Game 3 is on at 11PM est tonight. That's just brutal.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 This series is brutal. Padres didn't really have a chance going in, but from what I've seen tonight, they look like they've long since checked out and are just going through the motions. At this point, the only thing they have to fight for is not being no-hit on top of being sent home.
Guest Brian Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 At times Edmonds makes great plays, at times he's a drama queen.
mike546 Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Giles goes down on a pitch right down the middle. And Klesko grounds out. Atleast they made it interesting.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Molina's two-run single earlier proved to be huge. Had he not done that, it would've been a one-run game and probably an entirely different one, too.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Congrats to the Cardinals. Once Atlanta is eliminated tommorow I hope the Cards can win it all this year. A Cardinals/Angels world series would be fun just because there would be way too much red on my TV.
MikeJordan23 Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I thought this would be a better series with Peavy. But not once, after the 4th inning of game one, did I worry about the Cardinals losing this series. NLCS, let's go.
Richard Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 This doesn't suck as much as finding cat hair, vomit, and ants all over my room, but it's close. Well at least we finished better than the Dodgers, my standard for a successful season.
