Guest *KNK* Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 If I were to book the match I would do the following. I would have both of them do their standard match at Wrestlemania 22. Then I would have the current star come into the ring and go over both of them. The only wrestling these two old fossils should be doing is passing the torch. This was a dream matchup 10 years ago and now it is just two old Dinosaurs going through the motions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't have paid big money to see this in 95. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's most likely because Austin was still only known as a WCW mid-carder and a ECW *star* in 1995. Hogan/Austin was perfectly suited for WMX8 rather then Rock/Hogan but It will still do better numbers then any other match possible.
CBright7831 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 Correct me if I'm wrong...but didn't we already have Hogan and Austin fight each other (even though it wasn't one on one) with the Rock/Austin vs. nWo handicap match in pre Mania X8 2002? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sssshhhhhhhhh, you're not supposed to remember that.
UZI Suicide Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 This will be fun to see, only because if Hogan wins their match, the entire crowd will most likely turn on Hogan and he'll get into a hissy fit over it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the crowds will have turned on him before Wrestlemania even happens. I hate the "WHAT" stuff, but I've got to say it would be hilarious to see Hogan's reaction when the crowd is constantly screaming that at him during his promo's.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 How would I book Austin vs. Hogan? I wouldn't. I'd call in sick and let some other poor schmuck deal with it.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 It would end up like the Christmas Play from South Park I would almost toy with having the feud be like all the other Hogan feuds with the whole "legend vs. legend" thing going, and have Hogan beat Austin and then try to do the handshake thing and Austin stunners him. Have Hogan come out the next night and say "what the fuck, Steve?" and have Austin go all rattlesnake on him. Then it becomes a _real_ feud, rather than a quick buyrate where nothing really happens. Maybe have Austin/??? vs. Hogan/??? and have the aforementioned handshake finish after a Hogan pin, so you don't waste the first singles match between the two. Maybe Austin/Cena vs. Hogan/Batista??? Or vice versa?
Guest I miss Test. Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I don't think there's much to book... They both do their little routines for weeks beforehand. Austin stunners him. Then, have their crappy match that pleases the fans. Hogan has to win, because he wouldn't bother showing up to lose. Fin.

razazteca Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Steve Austin should be on a very special Hogan Knows Best episode that features Austin bitch smacking Nick Hogan around for dating his daughter. Then on Best Week Ever, Chris Jericho would say some funny one liners about Hogan something like "Looks like Nick is indeed saying his prayers, taking his vitamins, and roid raging like his daddy". And then on Raw Jericho makes his return to WWE by continuing to mock Hogan by doing a skit of the fake Larry King Live show that has HBK playing the part of Hulk Hogan brotha. This goes on for weeks which eventually sets up Austin, HBK, Jericho vs Hogan, Knobbs, Eugene with Jimmy Hart as the manager. If Knobbs can't make it than replace him with some new guy that deserves the push.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I'd pull each guy to the side at different points during the day, and tell each they're booked to go over, then watch the fireworks erupt in the ring as each guy refuses to lay down for a 3 count. That'd be loads more interesting than the actual match.
Vern Gagne Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I think they'll shake hands at the end also, but I also think for sure that Austin will give him yet another stunner, leaving Hogan laid out in the ring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With Hogan having creative control, I guarantee you this will not happen. He may job, but no way the above scenario goes down with Hogan having CC. No way in hell. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The more likely scenario Vince comes out. Stone Cold gives him the Stunner, and Hogan the big leg drop. The drink some more beer.

Vern Gagne Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Why not have Nasty Nick instead of Knobbs?
Ultra Violence Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I think they should book a heel such as Kennedy as the mastermind behind making them kick the shit out of eachother, then he psychologically goads them, bets on Hogan winning (secretly) then as Austin is about to win runs down and attacks them both ending the match in a DQ. The ending would be dirty but neither would job and the chosen heel would have nuclear heat.
EdwardKnoxII Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Adding to the difficulty is the fact that Steve Austin's head is not nearly as consumed by wrestling as it once was. Sources say that Steve Austin simply worked his angle and left last night, hardly showing passion in participating in WWE's product. Austin isn't really into the WWE's product and yet he was still given 20 minutes to do what he's done hundred times before but, just dragged out. Nice going E and Austin. I shouldn't really be shocked seeing how Austin hasn't looked like he cares in years.
Guest Fook_Theta Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Hogan turns heel seems like the best bet for booking. Hogan as a mouth piece for Chris Masters would be interesting to see. Is there anyone that gives that 'pissed off' vibe in the current WWE that could be paired with Austin? I don't think Austin has ever been paired with someone that was as 'intense and serious' as his character is portrayed, with brief moments of brevity(Pillman aside). Just have some no nonsense guy out there beating the fuck out of people, doing his job, and respected by Austin. Trevor Murdoch would be a candidate but he's not going to get a singles push for a long, long time.
2GOLD Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 How would I book Austin vs. Hogan? I wouldn't. I'd call in sick and let some other poor schmuck deal with it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is my reaction to the entire thing. Building to this all the way to Wrestlemania? Yeah, that'll be a waste of 30 minutes or more of RAW per week when it all starts up. Hopefully this just turns into Austin and Hogan no selling each other and when the finish does come, you obviously see Austin or Hogan chewing gum as the ref counts the pin then they just get up and leave after the 3. I want one of them to be unprofessional live on television.
CheesalaIsGood Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I was thinking the crowd could turn Hogan heel for acting too much like a face and Austin could do his old "act the heel til they cheer me" routine.
