Should there be a Legends Survivor Series match?

Recommended Posts

Instead of having Piper vs. Bob Orton Jr. at Survivor Series, I'd love to see

Hogan or Dusty, Jake Roberts, Steamboat, Hacksaw, Piper vs. Bob Orton Jr, Orndorff, Valentine, Race, Dibiase or a variation of the match thereof.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't put it pass them to do this but it would be an horrible move to do because quite frankly all those names literally can't move.

Harley Race can't even stand up straight anymore, Piper has always been a slow worker but he's even worst now with that gut, Dibiase gained about 150 pounds, Orndorff has no feeling in his arms...Valentine barely looked mobile enough to stand @ WMXX...

It's an absolutely horrendous idea because you basically jeoporize the health of these legends who would be willing to sacrifice it just for another "go around" and cheap pop. You also insult the wrestlers in the back by stiffing them of a PPV paycheck and handing it to a bunch of 50+ year old men who aren't nearly mobile enough to take a back bump and what's worst, you insult the fans by forcing them to endure a torrid event like this.

They can come out for Legend segments, get a cheap pop and leave. Why do something that dumb for, basically nothing.

Let these legends retain whatever integrity they have left, instead of forcing them to sell their pride for another quick buck and cheap pop.

Don't fool yourself into thinking "Vince won't force them into doing it". Yes he will, maybe not directly but he'll lay a offer on the table...a offer for some they would salivate for.

Vince would knowingly have them in the palm of his hands and exploit it.

They already have enough trouble dividing a three hour show between current Raw & Smackdown wrestlers, why waste a match on legends...

Oh wait, there's a Bob Orton / Piper match rumored. It reminds me of them signing Bischoff vs. Shane for Summerslam 03 when the IC Champ, Cruiserweight Champ, and WWE Tag Team Champs all didn't have a match.

Having a bunch of old people who should have stopped wrestling years ago wouldn't exactly be a change of pace for WWE right now, would it?

Out of those, only Hogan, Roberts, Steamboat, Hacksaw, Piper, and Orton are really ring ready at all, and even then none look to be in great shape for their age other than maybe Steamboat and Hacksaw.

If you want legends as part of Survivor Series, why not throw them into another Survivor Series match? Have Cowboy Bob and Randy Orton lead a heel Smackdown team against Piper, Hacksaw, and 3 Smackdown faces for example. At least you are accomplishing something with the roster and letting the Legends simply "enhance" the prestige of the match and hopefully put over some of the younger talent.

No, we don't need a pointless match. It might draw a few fans but that would be it, only a few. If the match did happen it would feel like one of those matches just to fill dead air. No one needs to be in a match like that, espically the legends.

WCW tried that stuff with the old Slamboree shows. The "Legends" matches always sucked.

No need to kill a show with that nonsense.

Absolutely not. Steamboat is probably in better shape than most thoes guys, and even he can only manage a few chops and arm drags as shown by his ROH appearances.

WWE needs to set its sights firmly forward rather than back at guys who largely don't mean a thing to todays audience. Remember, their target audience is mostly kids.

My nightmare of a Legends Championship grows closer every day.

No, they should go ahead and do it. I'd call it "The Seniorweight Belt" and let Flair, Hogan, and Undertaker punchy kicky all night long and then gradually lower themselves gently to the mat.

Oh, wait, make that Hogan and Undertaker punchy kicky all night long and then gradually lower Flair gently to the mat.
