What I can't figure out is why the Lawler commentator character(which it absolutely is) has to be so completely different than the legendary Memphis wrestler and the well spoken, calm , Jerry Lawler that has good insight on DVDs and everything non Raw or PPV related....then he might actually be worth listening too, but something about the Tazz/Cole team just doesn't work....

Tazz/Cole were quite good on the Eddy Guerrero & Chris Benoit DVDs. I think their biggest problem is that Vince won't let them do their jobs without dictating what they are supposed to say. This has been a problem for years, and it is probably affecting Lawler on RAW as well. Coach doesn't seem to have any talent at all.

Dude, you crazy. Even if they aren't doing anything, I'll take Conway, Benjamin, & RVD over everyone you listed on SD's side. Jordan? Grenier? Green Lashley? Overrated Kennedy? C'mon. I'll agree that SD is handling their midcard better, but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of those guys are terrible compared to the guys Raw is mishandling.

Conway isn't great, he's got talent, but right now he's really not entertaining. His character has been shit since the first "ConMan" promo, after that, it went downhill.

 

Since Benjamin got buried he hasn't done shit, and when he does get a match, it's crappy.

 

We'll see what RVD does when he returns...in January.

But you're praising Jordan & Grenier! Shit, those are 2 of the worst wrestlers in the company. How are those 2 entertaining? SD using them doesn't mean shit when they're terrible. And Lashley is green as grass. At least the Raw guys have talent.

 

And RVD, when he returns, will be more over than everyone you listed on the SD side of your argument.

 

I like SD more than Raw, but I'd much rather watch those Raw guys you mentioned than the SD ones.

Grenier's new character of "Sylvan The Model" has been pretty entertaining. The "ConMan/ConWay" would be better, if they knew how to fucking do it right, and actually do something with it. Also, Grenier has improved in the ring since his debut with La Resistance, some people don't see it though, 'cause they still remember how bad and green he was when he debuted. And he has an awesome new finisher, "The 3 seconds of Fame".

 

Rob Conway is, of course, a lot more talented than Orlando Jordan, but Jordan at least has been in good matches since SummerSlam with Christian, Booker T, and Benoit (not the 1 minute squashes, but they were fun, too). Conway has not been entertaining or in good matches since he got the "ConMan" gimmick.

 

And Lashley is green as grass.

The biggest mistake they can make with Greeny Lashley is pushing him hard.. He's not ready for it, but i think that's where they're heading when they realise how good he could be.

Where have all the good old days gone? Guys worked the midcard until they were READY for the push. READY and ACHING for the push. The fans were ready and aching too. That's what made it so good. Guys weren't Midcard, Main Event, Midcard, Main Event. It was set. There were the elite and the soon-to-be-elite.

 

Sylvian has come a long way since his debut in La Resistance. His new angle just needs more exposure.

 

OJ is a lame worker. He has good mic skills and that's about it. That's what you get for bringing in an amateur BOXER to professional wrestling. But he has been used very well and he has held up, to his credit.

 

RVD is going to OWN RAW when he returns. I hope that interview with Carlito was just a tiny, little, crumb of a taste of whats to come. I have HIGH hopes for RVD's return. The change in mood, character and oooooh shivers down my spine!

 

Shelton is one of those guys who will be Main Event. No doubt. He's just not good enough for Main Event yet, but too good for Midcard. Or at least the midcard he's been dealt.

 

Rob Conway is going all the way in my opinion. It's just a matter of time. He was huge in OVW and he'll be fine in WWE as long as he gets the right kind of rub. But in saying that, that's all Goldust or Eugene needed, so...

 

WWE will hopefully turn it around when they realise Undertaker, Triple H, HBK, Angle, TBS, etc won't live forever, no matter what their t-shirts say. They need to groom these new guys now to make things better for the future WWE.

OJ is decent. Nothing offensive. Keep him away from the mic, and he's fine. Plays a better underdog face.

I used to like Raw more, however since Wrestlemania Smackdown has been far more entertaining eventhough their storylines are pretty crappy. The only thing that interests me in Raw was the Edge/Hardy feud and now when it's over there isn't really much to see. Carlito, Ric Flair, Masters, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Cena... all of them aren't excactly lighting my fire. It's a whole different story with London, Kendrick, Christian, ReyRey and Kennedy.

Bobby Lashley is way too short to be taken seriously as a monster. He looks about a couple inches taller than Dean and was actually shorter than the jobber Russell Simpson. He can't be more than 5'10".

Michael Cole is the main reason I can't get into Smackdown...I just can't...good announcing goes a long way...now, granted, JR wasn't great, but I could tolerate him more than Cole...

I can't stand Taz's commentating. He messes up the names of half the moves and just can't talk friggin English correctly most the time and it drives me crazy!
