The worst song ever

Recommended Posts

...if so, where's my free sample? I could prolly sell that and make a decent buck up at the high school.

But yeah. I've heard worse songs, man. Though it was fucking annoying, I've definitely heard worse songs. Take Lamb of God, for example. All of their songs are worse than this one.

Any song by Slayer. Ive never heard such gross misuse of the "devils interval" in my entire life.

That one Jet song is the worst. I hear that beginning and I'm thinking Iggy Pop when reality comes crashing down and I'm left sad and betrayed.

Any song by Ashanti or Ja Rule. Together, separate, with others... Their suck has no boundaries.

2002 called, it wants its pop-culture reference back.

Just kidding, but seriously the worst song ever is "We buit this city on Rock and Roll."

No, pointing to artists you hate and calling their work the worst ever doesn't compare. The link in the original post is very likely the worst song ever. Honestly, by the time they get to the "song" part of it, they only have the time to sing four lines.

Although Leonard Niomoy's "If I Had a Hammer" is torture.

Do what now?

"The devils interval" is just another name for an interval in music called a tri-tone. It can create a very unstteling feeling within a person and if overused, it can cause vertigo. When Kerry King isnt wanking on 2 notes with his gig bar for a solo, he is usually using a chromatic scale, which is another way to use tri-tones. Thats why some people say "they got a bad vibe" from the muisc really mean they dont like tri-tones. I got a bad vibe from the music too, because it sucks dick.

"pizza hut pizza hut kentucky fried bloody chicken and a pizza hut"

just thinking about it makes me want to smash something, and if it wasn't bad enough ..... i'd say it also crosses into some dodgy legal areas too!

No, I'm aware what a 3 step interval is. It's not always evil, either. What's that one broadway tune...Maria..that uses a lot of them. It's just not present in church modes. Besides, Slayer's not about chops, and what scales they're using, it's about creating that very vibe you mentioned. A fast, hateful assault of death and damnation. If you get into overanalyzing the theory of metal bands, you'll only end up liking trite crap like Dream Theater.

and as an aside, how can you criticize Slayer for not being "proficient" or whatever, yet defend Disturbed? Doesn't compute.

An interval is just the distance from one note to another. E to A# is a tri-tone. Yes, Maria does have a lot of them, however it's not used in the same context as Slayer. When Maria first came out, Tritones were not used a lot in that kind of muisc and it added another dimension. Slayer, on the other hand, are trying wayyyyyyyyyy to hard to be "a hateful assault of death and damnation" and what batter way to reinforce that, than to use shitty chromatic tri-tones in your music. I could have just said "I think they suck" but I actually gave a reason. It's not over-analyzation, its a reason. I dont know anyone who uses the same shitty sounds they do, thats why I think they suck.

How can I defend Disturbed.....

-David Draiman can actually sing

-David's lyrics arent laiden with trite demonic imagery because they are trying to be "heavy"

-Dan Donnegan can play a solo that isnt in chromatics and doesn't wank wank on his fucking gig bar.

-Disturbed have moved forward musically, Slayer have not.

-David and Dan are not like Tom and Kerry. Tom and Kerry are self-rightous cock-suckers who criticize Metallica for "selling out" yet Kerry King appears in Sum 41 videos and uses his Slayer fame to sell hs shitty clothing.

PS: Dave Mustaine can kick the shit out of that shaved ape Kerry King anyday.
