Da Maintenance Man 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I wouldn't really call it a finisher just yet. It isn't established. It IS noteworthy that Carlito actually did something other than kick or punch someone. Wow...Carlito doing an actual MOVE is the only high point of tonight's show...damn... cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I'll explain the subtle difference between tonight and Katie Vick. Yes, I know stuff like necrophilia exists. But there isn't anyone actually named Katie Vick that Kane killed in a car wreck who then had her dead body molested in the funeral home. It's too farfetched and thus to some extent can be filtered as being fictional nonsense. Of course it was the worst thing ever to air on Raw until tonight. There actually IS a Jim Ross however and he did in fact have a serious colon surgery. It's nothing to make fun of and even if Vince wanted to what point does it make? To me, if I'm a legit announcer it'd make me less likely to ever want to work for WWE, seeing as whatever medical problem I might have could be fair game for ridicule on TV. And Vince wonders why no legit broadcaster would touch WWE with a 10 foot pole.

The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 He's over and he makes a killing off the merch but he is essentially in that HBK 1996 zone of being over-exposed and completely losing his element of coolness and as a consequence, his overness. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand it in theory, for the here and now at least a bit, but can't people (including Vince), see that he just can't last for the long term like this? He's absolute shit in the ring, and he has one of the most tired and idiotic gimmicks of all time for a main eventer. Sooner than later, the fans are going to turn on him also, and not in a good way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And when they finally do that, then it's time to take action. But until that day comes, it's useless arguing simply for the fact that you don't like Cena.

WWE stereotypes 101: -all asians are either evil or extremely goofy -all blacks are from the hood and that's what makes them unique, not their in-ring skills -short, thick bodied women are not beautiful and should be heels because the fans shouldn't like "fat chicks" (Alexis will be turning heel, surely everyone sees THAT coming)
hyperchord24 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Rob conway's finisher is a glorified swining neckbreaker Carlito's is, well, not. I've seen someone from WCW do that same finisher. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. Seriously, what pain is it "supposed" to inflict on their opponent? Their legs? b/c everything else is cushioned. I think It looks like someone tried a reverse neckbreaker, but got it countered b/c it's they, not their opponent taking the bump (or so it looks)

Is it the same move? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Ego Trip has the opponent landing on their back. The move Carlito did has the opponent land on their face. , what pain is it "supposed" to inflict on their opponent? Their legs? Are you kidding me? Did you not see the move last night? Part of it was because of the bump Foley took, but holy shit, he just completely crushed his face. There was no cushion involved.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Everybody need to realize that RAW sucks major ass and Smackdown! is the show to watch. Talents are treated better, it's exciting, better wrestling, a Tag Team Division, Velocity rules, storylines make sense (Batista/Eddie has been good IMO). Still people prefer RAW over SD! just because RAW is displayed as the "A" show but SD! is actually the A show in terms of quality. I mean the fucking highlight of this show was JBL and Rey Mysterio on RAW! SD! superstars on RAW! :S Oh and I love JBL when he makes fun of people.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Is this (http://www.yucubetoo.com/moves/lastrites.gif) what he used? That's what the description sounds like. Reno (WCW) called it Roll the Dice. And Luther Reigns used it while he was in WWE. Common sense, hyperchord. The damage comes from the quick snap in twisting the neck and then impacting the jaw on the shoulder. Does that mean you don't buy the Diamond Cutter or Stunner at all? Because that's essentially what it is, just with a different set-up and a more impactful end result. I think most of the smarks agree that since the wwe is trying so hard on SD! (b/c it's a sinking ship), they experiment with stuff and it turns out to be better. Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Thing is with Smackdown! is that they don't mind pushing new talent and actually giving them a purpose. On RAW they sometimes push a new guy like Chris Masters but they are most of the time not even ready to step foot in a ring. Look at Ken Kennedy, no doubt he'll get drafted to RAW next year or the year after that if he keeps this up cause RAW wants the best players. And surprise surprise they come from Smackdown!. SD! brought in MNM and they are now a respected Tag Team. They brought in Burchill and he's now a good tag team with William Regal. The Tolands just debuted. Heidenreich and Animal are sometimes entertaining and they are over. Smackdown! has a damn Tag Team Division and it's fun! You've got guys like Ken Kennedy and Randy Orton who can step up against Batista any time soon. They are already teasing them feuding with Batista while Batista is still busy with Eddie Guerrero. The booking, while it still has it flaws, is just better then RAW.
Guest SavageRulz Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I wasn't crazy about RAW this week, but there were a few things that I thought were good. The triple threat match was a great way to start the show. The match was way better than I thought it would be, and I was glad to see HBK slay the giants and get the win. This whole Stone Cold/Coach/Stephanie saga irritates me. I love all three people involved in this feud, but it's just not grabbing me like it should. Just let the announcers announce and the wrestlers wrestle. Foley's presence did nothing to enhance the entertainment value of the segment and Carlito continuously owning Foley's ass does nothing to further that feud. Even though Triple H and Viscera's match was scrapped, I didn't mind at all. Ric and Hunter's feud is the best thing on RAW, and that was a great way to take it further. I really liked that segment. I also really liked the JBL/Mysterio invasion. I just wish they would acknowledge Christian as Edge's brother and not his 'good buddy', but whatever. The set up was awesome, and Mysterio's attack on Edge and Lita was short, sweet, and to the point. I thought this played out really well. The women's match was also something I liked. Mickie James showed some good moves, and Victoria put her over really nicely. The ending rumble was awesome, with the highlight being that leg choke on the ropes Candice delivered to Ashley. Good stuff, and a nice way to push the match at Taboo Tuesday. The handicap match with Cade & Murdoch vs. Rosey was a waste simply because it could've served a better purpose. The champs should have made short work out of Rosey, and Helms should have injected himself after the match, giving his two cents on why he turned his back on Rosey and then followed that up by beating up the already weakened Rosey. I'm still waiting for the day Helms tells Rosey "If it wasn't for me you'd still be a big heap of S.H.I.T." I'm just glad it wasn't last night because after that horrible Vince skit the last thing we needed was more shit jokes. I won't comment on the Vince segment because everything has already been said. I just want to point out how tasteless and ridiculous it was. I also want to say that just three weeks ago Vince said he loved his wife and "worshipped the ground she walked on", yet he bangs the big tittied nurse at the end of that atrocious skit. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The main event was good, but I'm tired of seeing Cena and Angle going at it. That not withstanding, the match was a good one and a nice close to the show. Foley's involvement was pointless, and Carlito's attack was as well considering he already abused Foley earlier in the night. The only thing positive that came out of this little sidebar was that it finally looks like Carlito has a finisher after being in WWE for an entire year. I was hoping that afterwards, Kane would have come out and chokeslammed Cena pushing how badly he wants that title match. But perhaps they'll do something like that next week. For me the show was like 50/50.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 nice to see Hurricane is again furthering his heel turn ONLINE, but I guess thats cuz there is no tv time for that when we have vince mcmahon out to show a LONG parody that out Family guyed family guy for having a long segment that starts out funny, gets very old and broing , then gets funny at the end again of course the rosey-helms feud will likely take place on heat. why the heel turn again? there goes his overness and likely his WWE career

Guest Zarock Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Some RAW thoughts: -The three-way match should have been the main event, definetly not the opening match -the Stephanie/Coach/Foley thing was pointless and did absolutely nothing in the way of anything at all. -Enough has been said about the lame (and very long) Vince skit that I really don't feel like talking about it. -The Edge/Masters/JBL thing was actually pretty funny. Edge was great ripping into the Smackdown guys, and Masters saying that "The Masterpiece don't swing that way" was just awesome. Also, JBL calling Masters a "Hare-lipped ape who sounds like he has marbles in his mouth" was cool. -Helms turning heel is very good, but because I'm really nit-picky, I think the Cade/Murdoch vs. Rosey thing was unnessecary, although Murdoch getting "tagged in" was kinda funny. -Having Angle vs. Cena was pointless, so I didn't really pay attention to it. This is pretty bad because apparently CARLITO DID HIS FUCKING FINISHER FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE. See, this is the thing I'm talking about when I said I watched RAW so I didn't miss important things. Overall an ass show. D+
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I'm going to add another complaint about last nights show: the announcers were horrible. I mean worse than usual. I mean, I think they were WCW '99-2000 bad last night. Lawler is a terrible face announcer, and works better as a heel or tweener. As for Coach, he's just not entertaining when it's only King with him. He's just annoying.

Course that means she is going to get the "fat ass" jokes at some point. Also, I believe LaRee has posed nude before. It was before her new implants but I remember seeing them back when she was still with Raven in TNA.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 It's the WWE, they have no options. I don't remember Molly hearing the "fat" talk until they turned her heel. Then it was "omg what a tub". That's the only way the writers can think of to insult a female, she is either evil, a slut, a whore, fat or a tease. Since Lita is the whore, Torrie is the tease, Candice is the slut and Victoria is the meanie...Alexis has no choice, she'll be the fatty.

I'm sure Christian will come up with some funny stuff. JBL already made fun of Masters by basically saying he can't speak and looks like an ape.
