NBA Week 1

GOTFUCKINGDAMN did he bleed. Jeebus!

Oh yeah.

Good win for the Suns vs the Lakers. They were in the exact same position as the Dallas game but this time hit some big shots. Boris Diaw looked good again. Really like Boris. ALways have.

But let me say this to you Laker fans, as I laugh at the Smush Parker love. There is a REASON this guy couldn't keep a job. Don't let the steals against Nash fool you. He is a HORRID defender, and despite his goot shooting in the first two games, he takes HORRIBLE shots. Think Jason William's pull up 3 in a fast break times 20 and you got Smush. Its only two games people. The real Smush Parker will make himself seen again in a game or two.

Maybe he needed some confidence or some playing time.  That can work wonders, you know.

He was a starter in Cleveland before he shot and no defended his way out of the rotation. He was a starter in Phoenix whenthey signed him last year when he shot hisself off the team. He was going to be a contributor in Detroit last year until they noticed that he he gets steals, but can't defend at all.

If you looked at his "defense' of the screen and roll last night and in Dever the night before, you have already seen his lack of D. He has a good shoting streak going right now, but he simply isn't a good shooter. If anything, he reminds me of Latrell Sprewell with better handles.

I do see what you are saying about his defense. Wasn't really that great. On the offensive end, I'm not too sure if I agree with you. In his rookie year he played 16 minutes per game. That's not really a lot of playing time, not to mention it's his first year in the league. 10 minutes per game over 11 games in Detroit and 7 minutes per game in 2004 at Phoenix isn't really a lot of playing time. He hasn't been given much of an opportunity to prove himself in the league, and from what I've seen in the preseason and first 2 games of the regular season he's been good enough to hold the fort and score 12 PPG.

Clippers beat the Hawks 92-77

5 players in double figures. James Singleton the guy that took over Bobby Simmons' role with a second straight double-double.

Amazingly(OK maybe not) the first time the Clippers start 2-0 since 1990-91

Good to see the team playing well without Maggette and Livingston

Personally, I think Smush is legit on offense, and being coached by Phil, and playing with Kobe and Lamar his freelance tendencies will be reeled in....but his defense is truely horrid....and when it comes down to it if he can't improve on that he'll stop getting run, because the Lakers do not lack guys who can put the ball in the net.

Wow, Olowokandi is horrible. The Wolves deserve to miss the playoffs just for signing that big piece of shit to that kind of contract.

Also, I was really impressed with Wally Szczerbiak tonight...a lot of people say all he can do is shoot, but it was his *defense* that kept Minny in it tonight, along with the usual brilliant outing from KG. But as usual, it's not enough for the Wolves.

Justin, your NBA knowledge astounds me.

Please share your AIM name with me, since you say to ask.

yeah, and Wally didn't even shoot well.

The Minnesota situation is a tragedy of epic proportions. As much as I like Kevin McHale the player, the whole thing is his fault. He fucked up the Marbury situation, he fucked up with the Joe Smith thing...he's signed some awful contracts.....I think it might be time to part ways

They need to just copy San Antonio. They should have just made a move for another 7 foot guy that only rebounds, let KG play the power forward, get a defensive SF that can only shoot 3's, a two guard that can drive to the hole like a psycho, and a point guard that is quick as hell.

If they had gone and picked up Dan Gadzuric, Eddie Jones, and Earl Watson they would be somewhere.

Predictably, the Pacers follow up their huge win over the Heat in disappointing fashion, losing their home opener to Philly 111-109. Pacers turned it over 21 times (including EIGHT from Artest), and Philly shot 55% for the game.

I thought the Clips would be a sleeper. They're one of those teams that I always look at and think 'wow, I really hope they make the playoffs, because they never do'.

Yes, nevermind the fact he was acquitted.

no he wasn't.

Charges against him were dropped because the girl refused to testify. Essentially the same shit, it was a bullshit charge.

Until he said (just like he said to the cops when he was arrested) that he "could understand why she didn't think it was consentual". If she didn't think it was consentual, it was rape you Mr. Bryant.

I hate Kobe. I wish his hot wife would cut off his dick, and show it on national TV. And then he'd do another joke of an apology. And she'd do it again.
