Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 What the fuck is the movie Big Bully doing on my TV today? Forget the fact that no movie with its main star being Tom Arnold should ever be on TV, but its Halloween. I've seen maybe 4 classic horror films on TV all week. Hellraiser, Hellbound :Hellraiser II, Friday the 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Otherwise its been absolute garbage with terrible Sci-Fi channel original films. This is like the first year in forever that the movie Halloween wasn't even on. Besides the four movies previously put in the first paragraph, there is a list of movies that must be played on Halloween (or the weekend prior to it) Halloween Halloween II Friday the 13 part whatever with the psychic bitch and the nifty music when she uses her psychic powers Nightmare on Elm Street part whatever The Dream Warriors The Night of the Living Dead Rosemary's Baby Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the mother fucking Ghoulies my rant is done. chaosrage 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 My thoughts exactly. I already mentioned it in the scary moments thread. Why isn't every channel showing Halloween tonight?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 I know. It's bullshit. AMC is re-airing Halloween 4, 5, and Resurrection, which they've been showing every night all month long... 31 Nights of Fright, my black ass.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 I would settle for Phantasm II and Critters.

They could be showing Halloween 1, 2, and 3.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Halloween and Halloween II must have some issues with their rights, because you never see them on TV on any channel anymore.
teke184 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Halloween 3, Chaosrage? 3 sucks almost as bad as 5 and, if you were unaware, has nothing to do with any of the other movies. (It was John Carpenter's horrible attempt at doing new Halloween-themed movies every year.) I'd go with 4 myself, which was the only decent Halloween past 2. chaosrage 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 At least Spike used to have a Friday the 13th marathon on Halloween. Now we can't even get that.

They should have let Michael stay dead and continued to make different Halloween theme movies
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 I watched House of Wax last night, wasn't THAT bad. And HBO started showing A House of 1000 Corpses at 12 or so. They atleast tried.

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Exorcist is on Cinemax at 9. And Poltergeist is on TCM at 7. That's the only two I see so far, better than nothing, I guess. Better than watching Raw.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Halloween 3 is one of the worst movies ever made. End of story. Flat out sleep inducing. 4 is probably the best of the later sequels. I think TCM is having some Hitchcock stuff on tonight, Psycho is on now. Not exactly HORROR though. Personally I'd suggest getting the Universal box sets of Drac, Frank, Wolfman, Mummy, etc. Also the recently released Val Lewton collection.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Basically, Halloween 2 is in tv rights hell. No one wants it and those who happen to can't seem to get their hands on it cause it's confusing as to who owns it. Same goes for a lot of good horror movies from the 80's. AMC at least tried but it's stil AMC. I recorded The Birds, Psycho, White Zombie and a few others off TCM today but that's really it. Halloween is one step from losing it's holiday status it seems. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 AMC did all right with Monstervision, but they would have done better to replay the Hellraisers and the like a little more often, and Scream 2 and Tremors a lot less. Much as I love Tremors, that shit was on like every four hours this week.
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 what movies are in TV rights hell, and why? I would have liked to see either AMC or TCM play the movie "Freaks". I've never seen it and I don't want to even attempt trying to find it at a videostore.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Well if you have Comcast OnDemand there is a bunch of stuff. First 3 Child's Play, Hellraiser, Amityville Horror, etc.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 1, 2005 IFC had good movies over the weekend and tonight. TCM has had alot of good old Hammer type stuff airing in the late night/early morning for the past few weeks. Seems that TCM considered the Hitch movies as being part of their Halloween schedule. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Maniac is on IFC at the moment. That's about as creepy and sadistic of a horror movie as you could hope to come across. I agree with the complaints about AMC. Every year I look forward to the horror movies they show for Halloween, but this year it was just the same 10 or so movies looped over and over. At least I got to see Stephen King's Graveyard Shift a couple times, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. It was also good to see The Hitcher, but thats more of a suspense than anything else. In the same tradition that the Christmas Story is shown on TNT for 24 hours every year for Christmas, I think some channel needs to air Halloween back to back, all day long. If I can't have that, at least air classics like Dawn of the Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser and Child's Play. Hell, it would be nice to see the Creepshows get some play on Halloween.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Pumpkinhead is on HDNet Movies right now but Im watching RAW from earlier.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Why is anyone shocked? Look, AMC SUCKS nowdays. It has sucked ever since roughy Halloween 2000 when I recorded Supernatural (with Carol Lombard) and found that they had gone to having a commercial break. That was like some disillusioning moment in my life, I swear. Dammit, whatever happened to the AMC that used to show old RKO shit from 1932 that no one has ever heard of? dubq 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Normally even CityTV air Halloween movies... what did they air this year? Monday Night Football. Ooooh, scarrry. I was also at least expecting Gremlins from YTV but for some reason they were airing Inu Yasha.. wtf?
RedJed 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2005 Yeah they had NOES 3 and Pumpkinhead on HDNet Movies tonite, not a bad double feature at all!
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 1, 2005 I still like AMC. It's not nearly as good as it use to be, but when compared to the other commercial based movie channels it's not too bad. They air a nice variety of movies, some of questionable worth, you don't see on all the time, and they have some good original programming.

It's almost Exorcist 2 bad <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I think it's one of the most underrated movies ever. I'm too tired to go into why I thought it was great so I'll just link to a review that could explain it better than me. http://efilmcritic.com/review.php?movie=1128&reviewer=
