Downhome Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I openly admit that I just about hate all of the new SNL episodes, and have for the past few years, but I love Best Of shows like this. To me, the commercials are one of the things they have just about always done somewhat consistantly well. Even some of the new ones are pretty funny. Just a heads up in case you forgot about it being on tonight.
Vampiro69 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Buckwheat selling an album always gets me to crack up.
SuperJerk Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Eddie Murphy was consistently awesome, and yety most hardcore SNL fans dismiss the Dick Ebersol years as being worthless.
Slayer Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Because, outside of the shining light that was Murphy, they were worthless
SuperJerk Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Except they usually leave out the "outside of" part when discussing it.
BruiserKC Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Colon Blow...the breakfast of champions!
SuperJerk Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Did they show Happy Fun Ball? I'm going to be pissed if I missed that.
bob_barron Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Except they usually leave out the "outside of" part when discussing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not really. The general consensus is outside of Piscopo and Murphy they were worthless. They did show Happy Fun Ball, but no Nerf Crotch Bat. The special was pretty good, but the Classic SNL was much better.
Downhome Posted November 6, 2005 Author Report Posted November 6, 2005 They showed far too many of the commercials from the past few years. It's sad when it's obvious that SNL casts from years ago do even that better than the new crop, and it says that much more about the past few years of the show.
bob_barron Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Well they have done two commercial specials in the past, so they should've shown more commercials from the present. I didn't think we needed two Tina Fey vagina commercials, although they get bonus points for McCain sings Babs.
razazteca Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Was the GAP commercial the only skit that did not have Horatio Sanz laugh in it? Did they show the commercial with Rosanne Barr as a phone operator?
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I love Belushi's "Little Chocolate Donuts" commercial.
Youth N Asia Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 No Neal Diamond & Bigfoot commercial was there?
SuperJerk Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Except they usually leave out the "outside of" part when discussing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not really. The general consensus is outside of Piscopo and Murphy they were worthless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You obviously haven't been a part of the same discussion I have then.
bob_barron Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 I don't know who you have talked too but the general consensus is the Ebersol years were total shit except for Piscopo and Murphy. Which is true, most of the episodes are total ass.
Jericholic82 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Colon Blow is great. as is buckwheat. I watched SNL last night and it was funny enough. weird to see commercial spoofs rapid fire like that though. "Ingredients include an unknown green glowing substance that fell to Earth, presumably from space. DO NOT TAUNT HAPPY FUN BALL"
Darthtiki Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 No Neal Diamond & Bigfoot commercial was there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please send your money to the back of the burned out Shoney's
