On Black Lushus

I just went over to the Pit and looked through the threads one last time. I hadn't been there all week, and I don't really plan on going back. Their "Boardum" and "four in the morning" threads are entirely dedicated to HTQ-bashing for the last two or three pages of each. It's incredibly pathetic. Even Ill and Tom have gotten in on it now.

 

Of course, I'm certain I'll be called a kiss-ass or a "sock puppet" as Mike put it a couple weeks ago, for defending the guy, but I'm going to anyway.

 

As far as HTQ being a mod goes, I really couldn't care less whether or not he has powers. It's not like anyone would be allowed to actually put them to use anyway without hundreds of morons complaining about it. Just ask Loss and Nik. Of course it's not right the way he treats posters considering he *does* have powers, but I fail to see how he's any different from Mike in the way he conducts himself, as described by the Pit regulars. Aside from the aforementioned mod powers, of course.

 

One of the defenses of Mike when he was here was that "he knows his shit" or "he's right more often than not." I have no problem with that POV, and I also feel the same way about HTQ. A lot of these kind of situations, whether people want to admit it or not, have to do with whether or not you agree with the people's viewpoints. Reading through HTQ's "TSM brings the idiocy" blog entry, I can't really deny many of his claims in the initial entry.

 

And in my personal opinion, I think people should be able to say whatever the fuck they want about people in their blogs, as long as they leave it there and don't derail the actual discussion on the board. That's pretty much the point of having a personal blog, to express yourself, isn't it?

I didn't really bother to deal with that particular thread (i don't do any CE related stuff, even movies CE related), but I'll take your word for it...I like Mike, for the most part, but I can't condone that sort of stuff...if I don't like something, I try my best to not go into a thread about it and bash it...I won't say I've never done it, because I have, but I'll certainly try not to do so...

I always liked Mike a lot more than HTQ. HTQ has been trolling/bashing just as much as mike has. The only difference is HTQ hasn't derailed as many threads as mike.

Mike purposely goes into areas he dislikes, and beats his negativity into the ground for 10000 posts, until everyone hates him.

 

HTQ is pompous, and tosses childish insults to anyone that doesn't agree with him.

 

Both are stubborn trolls, who are capable of making fine posts. One is a supermod. One is banned. There's no consistency here. The correct decision is meeting in the middle on both. They both should just be regular posters. The end.
