Dead or Alive, the movie

Recommended Posts

So it has nothing to do with the game's story? It looks like the girls are like, a team of secret agents or something. Weird.

Was the army guy supposed to be Bayman? I think I also saw Gen Fu.

Does this mean we'll be getting DOA: The Movie: The Game? Robin 'Liu Kang' Shou vs Kevin Nash would rock the f'n house.

Seriously not feeling it after watching the trailer.

I couldn't watch it. Is there something I have to download to watch it?

^ Assuming IMDb is up to date and correct (ha!):

The actual movie title is "DOA: Dead or Alive."

-------------

Full Cast and Crew for

DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)

Directed by

Corey Yuen (actually a competent choice)

Writing credits (in alphabetical order)

Adam Gross

Seth Gross

Granz Henman

J.F. Lawton screenwriter

Cast (in alphabetical order)

Devon Aoki .... Kasumi (only seen her not act in Sin City, so no comment)

Derek Boyer .... Bayman (so yeah, guess he was the army guy)

Sarah Carter .... Helena Douglas

Collin Chou .... Hayate

Steve Howey .... Weatherby

Kane Kosugi .... Ryu Hayabusa

Natassia Malthe .... Ayane

Matthew Marsden .... Maximillian Marsh

Chad McCord .... Chief Detective

Kevin Nash .... Bass (Nash playing a Hogan clone. Brilliant.)

Jaime Pressly .... Tina Armstrong

Eric Roberts .... Donovan (Yes, brother of Julia)

Robin Shou .... Pirate Leader (at least we won't be seeing his sizzling on-screen chemistry with Talisa Soto in this one).

Silvio Simac .... Leon

Holly Valance .... Christie Allen

Brian J. White .... Zack

Oh...and worth mentioning:

Produced by

Mark A. Altman .... producer

Paul W.S. Anderson .... producer

Yikes. Then again, they're only producers.

So it has nothing to do with the game's story? It looks like the girls are like, a team of secret agents or something. Weird.

Wouldn't be surprised. They'll probably make Ayane and Kasumi like the bestest and closest of sisters.

EDIT: Rottentomatoes article that confirms just about all of that info:

This movie should be fantastically awful. Jaime Pressly works as Tina; I hope she's Dixie in the inevitable Rumble Roses movie.

It will be funny when the movie is PG-13.

Least Holly Valance is in it. So some good looks made the film.

And Malthe.

I really can't see this getting anything more than either a DVD or a Sci-Fi world premiere.

I'm still waiting for the movie version of "Silent Hill", which was written by Roger Avery, and directed by Christopher ("Brotherhood of the Wolf") Gans.

Kane Kosugi ....  Ryu Hayabusa

Wait, wait. Ryu Hayabusa? Wasn't that the guy from Ninja Gaiden, or NES Pro Wrestling or something?? :P

Ninja Gaiden--he's been in all the DoA games since the first one.

Customers?

er..costumes.

wasn't Devon Aoki also in 2 Fast 2 Furious?

Yeah.

Guest Tuxedo Mask

So is Robin Shou making any sort of game to movie history with this? Him and Nash make me interested in seeing this film, bad as it may turn out.

Also, Mortal Kombat III... that's never happening, is it? I swear I read some rumours awhile ago that they finally found a shootling location but that was over a year ago.

Jaime Pressly .... Tina Armstrong

Damn the type casting! Why can't she get a role outside of poor white trailer park trash?

Kevin Nash .... Bass (Nash playing a Hogan clone. Brilliant.)

If they casted Chris Penn they could of had a Best of the Best reunion!
