KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 December is approaching and the last PPV of the year is about 3 weeks away, so this is the time we should be talking year-end awards. Let's use this thread for category ideas and nominations. We could mix "kayfabe" categories (where "fans" had "voted" on "OAOAST.com") with awards recognizing people's skills (best match writer, best promo writer). I've got these in mind, but more can be added. Favorite wrestler Favorite tag team Favorite women's wrestler Most Hated Heel Either one MOTY category or separate ones for HD matches and PPV matches, or both if you want. Best writer (overall) Best writer (matches) Best writer (promos) Feud of the Year Best Upstart Best Original I was thinking that, instead of a regular HD the last Thursday of the year, we could do an awards show to give people a break from match writing and whatnot. I'll post it and people can write little "acceptance speeches" using their characters to further angles and the Civil War, since I think the "big twist" would have happened by then. Oh, and I'll play Devil's Advocate and suggest these for MOTY: Axel vs. Ragdoll, Las Vegas Deathmatch, Climax - Now, before I go any further, say whatever you want about me nominating my own stuff, but as I've said to Hoff, to Ken and to NYU, I'm fucking proud of this match, and I'm not just nominating it because of that reason, Popick said himself that it was one of the best matches he's read. Drek Stone vs. Hoff, OAOAST Championship, AngleMania - Say what you want about people leaving, taking their ball and going home, whatever cliche people are using today. Also, assuming PK is fine with me posting up an Official one of these once Climax goes up, would it be better if we had a shortlist of say, 5 for each category, so we don't run the risk of having a fourway tie with 2 votes each for some categories. Something tells me we might need a few more on the shortlist for "Biggest Bastard of an Idiot Award" this year, so we'll call it 'roughly' 5, if agreed. Axel winning the OAOAST World Title for the first time at AngleMania IV and celebrating with all the OAOAST babyfaces. 2.) The Parka coming back from a crippling back injury and defeating Vitamin X at AngleSlam. 3.) Hoff winning the World Title for the second time after defeating Axel at AngleSlam.
