SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2005 Now that November is behind us, it is now time for December. The Kinks that produce Ugly November Basketball are beginning to be Ironed out, and teams are beginning to produce their identies that will shape their season for 2005 - 2006. We also begin to see what could be in Spring as the some really KEY matchups between teams that will go along way in determing bids, seeding, and possibly the National Champion. With so many teams locking it up aganist each other this year, this month is one to pay attention to. With that said. Here's what is on for the rest of this week on ESPN and ESPN 2 Dec 1, 9:00 PM Nevada at Kansas (ESPN) Dec 3, 2:00 PM Michigan at Notre Dame (ESPN 2) Dec 3, 3:00 PM No. 9 Memphis at Cincinnati (ESPN) Dec 3, 5:00 PM No. 5 Oklahoma at No. 4 Villanova (ESPN) Dec 3, 7:00 PM No. 13 Arizona at Houston (ESPN 2) Other games may be avalible through ESPN's other networks, and Regional Outlets, check with your Cable or TV provider. With that...Let the Battles Begin.

Bored 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Montana 88, Stanford 69. Say goodbye to the NCAA tournament appearance streak. *sigh* Hopefully this program isn't about to go into the tank like the pre-Montgomery days.

SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Well, goodbye Stanford. The Pac 10 is going to be below par again this year, so they're in extreme trouble. Is there a reason to not beleive that Arizona will win the Pac 10 in a walk besides UCLA? How the BLOODY FUCK does a Power Conference Program lose to a Big Sky Team? I would love an explanation to that one. Also...put Kansas on the Death Watch list as well. They just lost to Nevada at Home (It was an awesome game), and they have a very pesky and dangerous St. Joes Team on Monday in New York. This does not look good for the Jay(Choke)Hawks. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Considering Nevada is ranked in quite a few magazines and polls that's not much of an upset. Why is it shocking that Kansas is no good this year? They lost a lot of guys off a team that jobbed 1st round to BUCKNELL.

They lost a lot of guys off a team that jobbed 1st round to BUCKNELL. I never said it was an upset, and after watching that game, it wasn't. However, there is one other factor to this that may shock people. Kansas has lost only 8 games out of the past 100+ at the Allen Fieldhouse. So Kansas losing there is always surprise at this point. As for Bucknell...I wouldn't be surprised by this team anymore. They have gotten everyone back from the Team that beat Pittsburgh and Kansas, so Bucknell deserves some respect this year. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Not to mention that Kansas lost all of it's good players. I mean they lost Wayne Simien and he was what was holding that team together.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Well, if anyone else cares, there are two big games on ESPN. If I didn't have Marital Arts today I would be glued to the TV, and not for football.

Mik 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I'm finding it hard to believe that UNC is ranked #35 right now. Almost beat Illinois and they jus beat Kentucky on the road. Ginyard and Frasor are gonna be great players.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Montana 88, Stanford 69. Say goodbye to the NCAA tournament appearance streak. *sigh* Hopefully this program isn't about to go into the tank like the pre-Montgomery days. Stanford must really blow. Like I posted in the other thread, you were blown out by UC-Irvine... and they lost at home to some Div. II (I think) school.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 After today you can go ahead and write UK off. If you guys wanna hold me to that statement, go ahead. But unless Randolph Morris magically regains his eligibility AND learns how to not suck UK is going nowhere this year. They lost at home to a UNC team that lost their top 7 players. Anyone else thinking that after this year you might start hearing the calls for Tubby's head? I mean moreso than usual. Memphis just beat Cincy in Cincy by 10. You know, of the teams I've seen this year I'd say Memphis might well be the most impressive. I know they lost to Duke but in a rematch I think it could be a different story. Alro 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 It's going to be a long fucking season. Maybe UK is having a slow start like last year. Maybe they will do something come March, but right now I don't have a lot of faith, especially with Indiana and Louisville coming in the next two weeks. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Nova passed their first big test today, beating Oklahoma 85-74. *Cheap shot coming* I'd rub it in on Dama, but he'll likely be rooting for Texas in the NCAAs too for the good of the Big XII
Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I watched some of the game. Nova's depth at guard is going to be hard to stop this year... and they're well-rounded, also... that Lowry is a great, quick slasher, and odds are one of the other 3 will get hot outside. Too bad they don't have Sumpter this year, or I could really see them as the #1 team now. OU, meh... they look very similar to last year. Bang wins out with Gray and the fat white guy. Only difference is no Lavender, so now they only have Neel as an effective shooter. They look like a team that will probably finish high in the Big 12, get like a 3-4 seed in the tourney, and lose in the 2nd-3rd round to some team with shooters. Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 And if you didn't think it could get any worse for the Pac-10...it just did. Arizona is down by 11 late against Houston. There isn't a Top 25 worthy team in the conference right now. Just awful.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 4, 2005 UCLA is going to be much better at the end of the season, but yes, down season for the Pac-10. Plus, Houston isn't that bad of a loss for Zona.

Man you can't get enough of arguing with me and starting fights can you? I've been wondering why OU was ranked #5 for a while. I knew that they'd have Gray and Bookout banging around like last year but they still have trouble shooting. But these kids were hyped as good outside shooters so it makes me wonder if it's the way Sampson coaches.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Jesus Christ it's a joke. Anyway, Nova is just awesome this year. If they had Sumpter they'd eb contending for the #1 spot.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Jesus Christ it's a joke. You've made it obvious before how you feel about me so you'll just have to forgive me if I can't tell when you're joking or trying to cause trouble.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 4, 2005 But these kids were hyped as good outside shooters so it makes me wonder if it's the way Sampson coaches. I don't think it's Sampson... even now, they still take the outside shot. But, with Everett as their main guard, you're not going to make many. Plus, I remember Hollis Price wasn't afraid to jack up shots at will.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Is it safe to have the Funeral for the Pac 10, now? Because Arizona just lost to Houston.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Houston MIGHT actually be decent. I know it sounds insane but it could happen that they would be solid. Bear in mind they beat LSU at LSU and then beat Zona tonight. They had some signs of life last year, I remember they beat U of L by 3. Speaking of U of L we looked like a totally different team with David Padgett in the lineup. I know all we did was squash Prairie View today but that beats almost jobbing to Div. 2 teams. Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Houston was figured to be a possible 20-team win this year with the weakened C-USA, and adding Lafayette.

Anyone else thinking that after this year you might start hearing the calls for Tubby's head? I mean moreso than usual. I dunno. Morris looked good in the tourney last year. I'm hoping if we can somehow get him back and Crawford returns (and learns not to suck) then we might have a shot at being good.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Well I hope Sampson gets these kids to take better outside shots and someone needs to teach Everrett that he's not good enough to just try to completely take a game over. It's one of the reasons that OU lost to Duke last year.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Gonzaga-Washington tonight. I hope it's on some channel I can watch. Huskies were fun to watch, last year... but, they're basically all new guys now. And they supposedly have a couple good freshmen.
