Should TNA get a new world belt??

I saw this posted in the Turing Point thread by ChrisMWaters and I thought it needed it's on thread.

 

You know, I don't care how much tradition the belt has.

 

In this day and age, the NWA World Title Belt doesn't look as impressive as it could be.

 

I have to agree with him. I know that NWA world belt style does have alot of history behind and it's not a bad looking belt but, for a fed that now has a national tv deal I think it's time for them to get a new world belt.

 

Hell it's the world belt and it's the smallest one in the whole fed. And the style looks way to dated for today. Any thoughts?

In my opinion, they should do what they did back in the 80s when Ric Flair was in his...either second or third reign.

 

Get a belt as big as possible, all gold.

 

Don't COMPLETELY rip off the look of the belt now called "The World Heavyweight Championship" though, cause they don't want a lawsuit. Find a way to differenciate the look, but still be impressive looking.

 

Maybe call up the guy that made the new IWGP title belt to help them out.

Mind you, I always felt that they should emphasize the NWA part of their name, but since they seem to be branding themselves as TNA, why not create a new TNA World's Heavyweight Championship?

Make it bigger. More definition on the colors, maybe adding a third. Make the design similar so that you can tell where it came from, but not identical.

 

That way, it would stick with the whole "the future through innovation on tradition" way the company is run.

TNA paid the NWA for the rights to use the NWA World and Tag Championships until 2012(i think), so they're gonna use them.

 

I like the design as it is, but it is a little small. They should make it bigger and... golder.

Yeah the NWA belt is very outdated. Especially with the flags on the side-plates, but right on the front it says USA adjacent to the bid dome globe.

 

I'd like to see a huge, new design, belt as well. Perhaps something similar to the old WCCW World or Unified USWA title.

Didn't they change the look of the belt a couple of years back when Corino held the title? But they changed it back because of negative feedback.

I actually think that the GHC title kicks ass and would be a good starting point for a new NWA World Title..

TNA needs a better belt, no doubt. They could even roughly keep the same design...just make it bigger.

Why not use this one? Just update the font of the NWA logo to match the one they use on the X Title.

I absolutely hate the NWA title. It looks so cheap that it could almost ruin the prestige of the championship for a new viewer. I've wanted them to change that belt since they opened the doors, it just looks ridiculous.. especially around the waist of a guy like Rhyno.

IWGP is f'in awesome. Nothing says prestige/history like having ALL the names of the belt holders engraved on it. Plus in like 50 years it'll be like 5 feet wide to hold all the different title holders !!!!

Samoa Joe needs to win the NWA title and throw it down proclaiming the X title to be the true championship belt! The secondary title for the midcard can be either the North American or Southern or TV championship belt.
