EdwardKnoxII Posted February 19, 2006 Author Report Posted February 19, 2006 You know with Christian as the new champ now would be the perfect time to make a new world belt. Cause Christian just didn't look right with that belt.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I'd say yeah, it's about time. The best point in favor is AJ Styles' reaction to seeing the NWF belt in Finland, while he was NWA champ* and Bjørn Sem held the Norwegian belt. AJ took one look at it and said "Damn. Yours is cooler than mine." When your belt is outshone by a federation's from a land with absolutely no wrestling culture and a minimal fanbase, founded three years before the fact... Maybe it's time to get a new one. The belt in question is here... http://www.wrestling.no/modules.php?set_al...=view_photo.php *Allow me to make allowance for the fact that I may be terribly wrong and AJ might have been X champ at that point. That might actually be worse.
Dandy Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I got that same belt by mailing in cereal proofs-of-purchase.
haws bah gawd Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 That belt is WAY too big. I'm all for a belt being large, but that pushes the envelope a little much. Looks like the poor guy holding it is about to be crushed.

LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 They are waiting for Monty Brown to win it, so he can remake the belt with a Cheetah print..... and a spinner. I seriously have thought that the belt needs to be updated. Someone else said that they have paid for the NWA rights through 2012, I don't think a redesign would negate the belt being the NWA title. I think even the NWA should realize that their belt looks like a cheap indy belt these days.

The guy in the pic looks like he would be around 6'3 or so, so thats why I thought the belt was bigger than it actually is.
razazteca Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Majority of the X Division guys are under 6'0"?
Dangerous A Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I don't think changing the belt really makes that much of a difference. It's the prestige that is behind it along with the man holding it that makes the difference. The triple crown belts for All Japan don't look like much, but they mean so much because of the history behind them as well as the guys who held the triple crown in the past. If I could have one set of belts in my lifetime, it'd be All Japan's triple crown.
Bruce Blank Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Majority of the X Division guys are under 6'0"?are you stating that or arguing that? if you're arguin then list the guys over 6'0'' in the X division
daileyxplanet Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 I second the UFC belt look. Replace that with NWA and we have a winner.

Corey_Lazarus Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Oh hell yeah. Daniels is about as tall as Benoit, Styles as Jericho...and Samoa Joe, the tallest of them, is in the 6'2"-6'4" range.
