It might seem a little extreme to say so after just one loss, but with the aura of invincibility of both the team and (more importantly) the dome gone, they've got a lot more to overcome. A big excuse used for their playoff losses this decade has been that they've always been on the road but that this year teams will have to beat them at home, and now SD's shown everyone how that can be done.

It doesn't bode well for Indy that the last pair 1-loss teams have lost the conference title game at home (Minnesota in '98 and Pittsburgh last year)

What are the odds if you pressure Peyton you might be able to beat them?? Jesus Christ, listen to yourselves for once experts. This is old news. Pressure Manning and hit them and you can beat them. San Diego: 9-5 Week 16 @ KC Week 17 vs Denver KC: 8-6 Week 16 vs San Diego Week 17 vs Cinci Pitt: 9-5 Week 16 @ Cleveland Week 17 vs Detroit In order for San Diego to clinch the second Wild Card spot they have to win out and hope Pitt loses one game. In order for KC to clinch the second Wild Card spot they have to win out and hope Pitt loses both games. In order for Pitt to clinch the second Wild Card spot they really just have to win the next two games. KC is eliminated with a loss to San Diego and a Pitt win @ Cleveland next week

I'm not saying the Colts are bad, I'm saying this "hit them and you can beat them" isn't new and it's really stupid to hear announcers and everyone saying, "now we know how to beat you!" So..don't turn the ball over and hit them....wow, that's a novel idea! Why, I thought the way to beat them was turn the ball over alot and let Manning have all day to throw the ball. Boy is my face red.

I'm not saying the Colts are bad, I'm saying this "hit them and you can beat them" isn't new and it's really stupid to hear announcers and everyone saying, "now we know how to beat you!" Also, they were the last team to beat the Colts at the RCA Dome prior to today, and they nearly beat them there earlier this season. The problem with most teams is that they don't have the team speed (especially Pittsburgh's defensive line), so they don't blitz because they don't want to leave anyone open.

I think there should be an inverse relationship between playoff teams and games per season. Baseball teams have 162 games to prove themselves, so 8 teams is fair. Basketball/hockey have just about half that many, so they should get twice as many in the playoffs. Football has one-tenth the season that baseball does, so asking for 16 teams is more than reasonable.
