This week in the NBA

Recommended Posts

You know, this wouldn't be so bad if we had our 1st round pick. Pick Adam Morrison and bam, we're back in business. It all makes it much worse that our only pick in the 1st round comes from the...

Spurs.

Jermaine O'Neal has got to get some serious MVP consideration should the Pacers end up putting up 50+ wins again. "He plays in the East" is no longer a valid excuse.

There's the inevitable Clipper downslide. They're gonna fall and fall hard.

This happens just about every other year. We hear about "OMG THE CLIPPERS ARE PLAYING WELL THEY'RE GONNA MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!" then they fade into obscurity by January or even go up till the All-Star Break before playing their traditional spoiler role.

OMG THE CLIPPERS ARE DOOMED

They have lost 5 out of 6, with three of those loses being to the Pistons, Pacers and Spurs.

They have played the last 8 games without their second leading scorer Corey Maggette

After the Bobcats game on Friday they have seven straight home games where they are 10-2 this season.

Yeah they are done

That game was also a lot closer than the score would indicate. The Pacers closed on an 18-1 run. Regardless, I wouldn't put the Pacers on the same level as the Pistons or Spurs right now.

Not yet, anyways. But eventually.

Nothing indicates to me that they won't hit that usual big slide. So what that they have Sam Cassell and that Elton Brand's playing well? Elton plays well every season and nothing happens to that team. Maggette's complaining about playing time, Quentin Ross is out, and Wilcox has played like trash.

I think Isiah would have only made the trade if they got Denver's pick. If they weren't getting Denver's pick, a job well done Dolan.

Does anyone know who's playing the second game on Christmas Day? You'd think ESPN would mentioned it in passing. Instead it's Spurs this..Pistons that.

Lakers at Miami.

I guess sarcasm's just lost on some people.

Hawks just win a hell of a game against Philly. So yeah, i guess I was right. That win against San Antonio was the one that taught them how to play.

And you know that block that Prince had on Reggie Miller and how incredible of a defensive play that was? Josh Smith gets about 2 of those spectacular defesnsive plays that come at the best time possible a game. I mean, his line tonight, 8 points, 7 boards, 4 blocks might not look that impressive, but they were 4 of the biggest blocks ever seen. To me he is hands down the most impressive shot blocker in the league.

HUGE games for the Clippers big men tonight

Brand with 38 points and 20 rebounds

Kaman with 22 points and 22 rebounds

Clips win 97-88 over the Bobcats

EDIT: First time since 86 that two teammates get 20 rebounds in a game and only the fifth team since the NBA/ABA merger

Toronto has Denver's pick, they recieved from NJ in the Vince Carter trade, who recieved it from Denver in the sign and trade for Kenyon Martin.
