Guest JMA Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Didn't Ebert also give The Honeymooners a good review?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 I guess a guy who has watched literally thousands of movies is perhaps entitled to a few head scratcher reviews. It's just on a personal level for me, Van Helsing was very, very, very bad and I just couldn't see how anyone who has watched so many movies like that crap. It's easily the worse movie for me since Batman and Robin. I even caught it a second time at a friends house on cable and it didn't do well the second time either. In fact, it was worse. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Didn't Ebert also give The Honeymooners a good review? Yes, I believe he did. That out of the way, when "See No Evil" comes out, I really hope he trashes it in a review. Same with "The Marine"
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Ebert didn't like Old School. Fuck 'im.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 The movie took about 90 minutes to get going. And by get going, I mean by having anything eventful happen. It was as if I watching an 500-page book being acted out one line at a time. SO FUCKING SLOW, with too many jump cuts and set changes. But, once you get to the action and gore, you're left with the potential of what could've been a damn good horror film. If you enjoy movies that you can instantly forget about upon walking out of the theater, you will love Wolf Creek.
MDH257 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 Ebert gave Thumbs Down to The Usual Suspects because.... (dramatic pause) he hated the ending.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 I still have not forgiven Ebert for his thumbs up review of "Van Helsing". I was wondering when we'd get the obligitory "OMG HE GAVE VAN HELSING THREE STARS!" I hated the movie like most others, but I haven't become fixated on a questionable review from a catalog of critiques that dates back to the mid-1960s. Ebert gave Thumbs Down to The Usual Suspects because.... (dramatic pause) he hated the ending. It's still a clever ending, but I agree with everything he says about the rest of the movie. Its entire purpose is to make little sense so the finish can throw you through a loop. Usual Suspects is one of the most overrated movies of the '90s. It's an enjoyable movie, but you take away the twist ending and few people are still going to be talking about it today.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2005 *shrug* he gave Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead 0 stars, and I thought it was a pretty good movie, I still don't hold it against him.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2005 Ebert didn't like Old School. Fuck 'im. Anyone else think Old School is way overated? I liked it the first time for the most part (**1/2) but it's held up as a modern classic by a lot of pepole and dosn't hold up at all after repeated viewings.
