The Future of the OAOAST

Recommended Posts

.

I don't think having lots of mods and the GCF are a problem...if you don't want your stuff spoiled, communicate and submit segments by PM. But I like having the GCF to talk out angles and stuff, and I'd sulk if you took mine away. So there.

I feel ya, but think of it this way: if the writer or writers are properly communicating, via PM or an instant messaging program, you have that ability without having sixteen hundred mods :). To that end, I think it would be good if everyone had AIM or some messenger program. It only takes a minute to set up and I'd wager most screen names starting with "OAOAST" are still available. Seriously, I've found that discussing plans in real time is a big help.

Also, as far as "surprise" goes. In the booking threads, PPV especially, I'd like to stop seeing matches posted before they're announced on the show. I know there's spoiler tags, but human curiosity seems to override those more often than not. Maybe that's just me, though.

Hypothetically though, it's all well and good that everyone is sharing their opinions on the War angle, but this deep into it, how would you logically end something like that? Just act like it never happened?

There's nearly three months until Anglemania. I'm sure you guys can think of something by then. That'd be a good place to make a fresh start.

Blow it off sufficiently and then let it go. This way its had a blowoff, but people can move on without having to worry about effecting it. You can still have angles that spawn from the CW, but there won't actually BE a Civil War.

EDIT: At this point I'd like to thank Papa. This thread is long, LONG overdue.

Bob Newhart wakes up in bed to reveal the whole angle was a dream.

And hey! I've contributed positively in this dicussion. How dare Mr. Popick only mention NYU and Hoff as former writers contributing positively. I'll meet you by the old willow trees tommorow at 3pm. We'll duke it out there.

Um...stupid idea, but what what if we end it with a Survivor Series sort of thing with the HHH/HBK finish from Rumble '04 ie draw, both men gave it their all, but no one wins in the end

In my opinion, if you compare the beginning of 2005 in the OAOAST with the end of 2005, it becomes obvious the federation has taken a downward spiral.

Compare it to the Summer of 2005 and we're doing pretty damn fantastic. The Summer was probably the only time I've ever thought 'shit, you know, I can't see this place lasting much longer'. I'd sight BattleBowl as the best example. The tag matches were so short. Everyone started leaving left, right and centre around that time too. I think we lost you, Hoff, CC, SomeGuy, CWM and PFL all around the same sort of time. Comparing us now to the middle of the year, I certainly wouldn't say we're in a bad position. We had more matches on the last PPV than of any other all year as far as my memory serves me. CC's back, Patty's back. There's been a shitload of work that's gone into rebuilding this place.

Also, on the GCF subject, I'm all for diminishing modships or whatever. But to be honest, once we do that, we may have a period of a few months where everything suddenly starts going pear-shaped because dang it we've all become so dependant on using it. The Anderson Cup is being dealt with through GCF. Without it, I can easily forsee it becoming chaos. But, maybe we should think about who really NEEDS modship and who doesn't though. Hell, it's not hard to give someone modship for a period of time if they need it and then take it back away when they're done. Worth considering.

Only, you need a mod who's in a different timezone, like me. Just incase. :P

Feedback? You know, I make the effort to read every word of every show...more-so recently. Trouble is, I suck at formulating that into feedback that isn't 'this was good this wasn't'. Which is why you don't see it as regularly from me as you should and hopefully now will.

Also, you want to set up an AIM chat, fine by me. Just don't expect me to be staying up until 1 in the morning just to talk to you losers in your American afternoons.

Some things:

1.) I thought the OAOAST Champion always decided who he/she would lose the title to. Hasn't it always been this way?

2.) I agree that we need to cut down on the mods. There have been plenty of times where I'll go, "How can anything be kept a secret in the OAOAST when it seems like 85% of the roster are mods!" I think we only need about 4 mods, tops.

3.) I have no problems whatsoever with the Civil War angle, although I think AngleMania V would be the perfect time to do the big blow-off.

4.) I agree about more people leaving feedback. I'm guilty of not leaving feedback every week. I know that. I'm going to try in 2006 to leave feedback more often.

5.) I miss the AIM OAOAST chats we use to have. Those were quite enjoyable. That's how we set up the first Elimination Chamber match in the OAOAST back in 2003. I would love it if we could start those again.

6.) It would be nice if we got more people. And not just one or two people a year, but like 10 or 20 (okay, that maybe a lot.) Foshi appears to be staying for the time being, and that's a good thing. Patty O' Green is back and that's wonderful. Reject and Thunderkid are back, although they're both being controlled by Alfdogg. Still, they're back and that's all that matters. It would be nice if we got some more people returning like "Shooter" Jay Darring, Dangerous A, Some Guy, and even Teddy Weddy!

7.) We need to advertise the OAOAST throughout the internet. When someone types in efed on google, I want the OAOAST to be the first site that appears.

8.) I want LaParkaYourCar to bring back the "official" OAOAST website.

9.) Tha Puerto Rican: The CORPORATE World Heavyweight Champion. What do you guys think? Huh? Huh? :D

I don't believe that the OAOAST is slowly dying and haven't all year. While I think that 2004 was our best year, I liked 2005 very much, and I'm not just saying that because PRL has been 24/7 Champion since April.

If this is a fed in decline, then my God GCW died a sudden and horrible death.....twice. GCW, my old fed, was in much, much worse shape when it went under. I think we'll hang in okay.

You know, that top e-fed thing I used to run a few years back would've been a useful thing to have right about now. Oh well.

Oh come on. Your fed is dying. Its namesake can't even post on the board any longer.

How exactly are we dying? I hate when people who aren't even in OAOAST try to talk about us as if they know what's going on or even worse act like they know more about our fed than we do.
