Conspiracy_Victim Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Texans sign Antowain Smith. Terms weren't announced, and no one felt like asking. NOW I can see why they passed on Bush! Genius! *clink bottles*
KingPK Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I still have a Patriots Antowain Smith jersey, actually. Well, he's from Houston, so maybe that'll motivate him.
Guest Princess Leena Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Geez, how many teams has Antowain been with now? Shame with him... he's quite talented for his size, but never had the mentality that an NFL power RB like him needs...
yankovic fan Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Not that I want the Saints to NOT go to the Super Bowl, but I will appreciate the sheer irony of the Texans winning it, or at least the AFC.
sfaJack Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 If the Texans win 6 games next year, they've had a great season.
Cheech Tremendous Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2438312 Link to a story about Randy Moss firing his agent after being busted for cocaine. When you are too rough for Moss to deal with, you know you have a problem.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Yeah because Moss is such a rough character. The guy gets into an altercation with a traffic cop, and he's made out to be a danger to society.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Yeah because Moss is such a rough character. The guy gets into an altercation with a traffic cop, and he's made out to be a danger to society. But he's got cornrows!

Hey I'm a big Moss fan (and Raider fan), but don't act like Moss has gotten some unfair rap as a bad guy. He was kicked out of Florida State (think about that for a second), is in the NFL drug program, tried to run over a traffic cop, admitted to taking plays off, and I think had some high school altercation where he kicked a guy in the face or something. Not exactly going to be nominated for sainthood.
therealworldschampion Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 The high school brawl you're referring to actually got Moss kicked out of Notre Dame, where he originally was supposed to play at in college, which led to him transferring to Florida State.
MrRant Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Jimmy Smith is retiring. LINK~! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2441034
MrRant Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Charley Casserly resigns as GM of Texans. LINKS~! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2440274
Lt. Al Giardello Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Jimmy Smith is retiring. LINK~! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2441034 Looks like Leftwich needs another #1 WR. That's why I thought the Jags should've made an offer to T.O.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 But Moss played his college ball at Marshall....
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Moss was kicked off of FSU for testing positive for drugs. One would assume he went to Marshall after that.

Vampiro69 Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 The Jags offense is going to be hurting this coming season. Matt Jones is going to have to step up huge.
Spaceman Spiff Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Joey Harrington to Dolphins for a conditional draft pick They need someone seeing as Daunte won't be ready to open the season. I think Brock Berlin was next on the depth chart prior to this move.
jwest27 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 The Dolphins signed Marcus Vick as a "wide reciever-quarterback specialist". http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2446261
CanadianChris Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I've seen a few columns on this topic -- does Flutie belong in the Hall of Fame? I say no way. I like Flutie and all, but people comparing him to Warren Moon are dreaming. They played at a comparable level in the CFL, but Moon was a much better NFL QB than Flutie, who was a backup for most of his career. Everyone can say that it's the Pro Football HoF and not the NFL HoF, but the fact remains that if you weren't an elite-level player in the NFL at some point, it doesn't matter how well you did up here, you're not getting in.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Would Flutie be the first NFL era player, to go in based mostly on stats from a nonNFL league? He's not getting in for his NFL career.
Cheech Tremendous Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 I say put him in for the dropkick extra point.
teke184 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 The Dolphins signed Marcus Vick as a "wide reciever-quarterback specialist". http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2446261 More proof that Saban will take anybody if he thinks their talent may pan out. It worked out well for him at LSU when he would take guys with subpar grades like Chad Lavolais and turn them into big stars, but Marcus Vick has "PR disaster" written all over him because he's a goddamn idiot off of the gridiron. Should he screw this up, the only other teams that would touch him with a 10-foot pole would be Oakland and Atlanta, the former because Al Davis will take ANY piece of talent if he thinks it might benefit him and the latter because Michael Vick may be willing to use his stroke to help out his dumber brother.

Based upon what I've seen of him, he's a goddamn idiot on the field too (flipping off fans, intentionally trying to hurt opponents, etc.).
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 He's not even any good. Eli Manning he is not.
Hawk 34 Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Maybe he'll try to convert Marcus into a WR or RB. (They did lose their trouble making rb, afterall)
Failed Bridge Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 Pats brought in Ty Law for a physical. I'd love to see him come back as he's my all time favorite Patriot's player (Rodney Harrison coming in at a close second). People don't seem to understand that he was around 80% last year after his injury and still did a pretty good job for the Jets.
Guest Princess Leena Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I've seen a few columns on this topic -- does Flutie belong in the Hall of Fame? Lolz. I'm guessing those only popped up in Canuckia. And/or Boston, but it's not like they count either.
