JoeDirt Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Velocity: 1) Dicks vs. Jobbers 2) Lashley vs. Jobber 3) FBI vs. Mexicools 4) Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Jamie Noble Smackdown: 1) JBL vs. Matt Hardy (falls count anywhere) 2) Mark Henry vs. 3 jobbers (elimination match) 3) Kid Kash vs. Juvy (CW title match) 4) Benoit vs. Orton (match #6 in Booker/Benoit series) 5) MNM vs. Batista/Rey (tag team title mathc, steel cage) Plus an interview segment with Simon Dean and Lonon/Kendrick, as well as a Bobby Lashley promo, Boogeyman/JBL stuff, and the return of a certain star.
Just John Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Doesn't look too bad on paper. JBL/Matt and the Henry squash aren't needed, but not all of the matches can be winners. The other 3 look pretty good, anyway. Sure, the last two happened last week, but both pairings have good chemistry. I'm interested to see the ME, too, as I believe it's MNM's first high-profile gimmick match.
Guest Nathan Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 1) JBL vs. Matt Hardy (falls count anywhere) If done right this could be good, but I doubt it will get the time needed. 2) Mark Henry vs. 3 jobbers (elimination match) Joy... 3) Kid Kash vs. Juvy (CW title match) Their match at Armageddon was abysmal. I hope for better, but expect the same. 4) Benoit vs. Orton (match #6 in Booker/Benoit series) Ugh. I hope Booker is well by the Rumble. 5) MNM vs. Batista/Rey (tag team title mathc, steel cage) I've enjoyed this feud (from an in ring standpoint). I look forward to this.

Oh come on, a burial match that gets precious TV time as punishment for backstage antics is much more important than making and putting out the best wrestling product possible!
Guest Nathan Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Smackdown is preempted in my area for Beauty and the Geek...
claydude14 Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Agreed, Kash/Juvi was solid. The Batista press conference was kinda cheezy but well done.
Downhome Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 1) What is up with those masks? 2) Who in the hell was that tag team?
ChrisMWaters Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 2) Who in the hell was that tag team? Mike and Todd: The Shane Twins. They also dressed as walking penises in TNA as "The Johnsons
BorneAgain Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Lashley's just like Lesnar, right down to the inappropriately high voice.
The Amazing Rando Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Smackdown is preempted in my area for Beauty and the Geek... That was that Boogeyman and Jillian Hall.
Downhome Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 2) Who in the hell was that tag team? Mike and Todd: The Shane Twins. They also dressed as walking penises in TNA as "The Johnsons Ah yes, thanks. When will The Johnsons fight The Dicks?

ChrisMWaters Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I have to wonder... Are they trying to make Melina into the new Sunny? (not personality or looks wise, but managing wise?) If she leaves MNM for the team that beats them in the future, then we'll know for sure.

Her choices are Kendrick/London, The Gyminis?..uh..Nunzio/Vito?...Super Crazy/Psychosis..and I guess Batista/Rey..

ChrisMWaters Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Tazz: "How do you stop Mark Henry?" Me: Wait till he gets injured again. Shouldn't take TOO much longer.
Just John Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Mark Henry is one of the very few wrestlers that I absolutely cannot stand. Every thing about him just bugs me, most notably his ridiculous pushes. Actually, what bugs me more than anything is his ungodly ability to kill any heat within a 3 mile radius of his mere presence. The cage match was solid and the crowd was into it until he got involved. You could just feel the energy being sucked out of the building when he showed up. Say what you will about guys like Orton or whatever that don't get big reactions... But Mark Henry, now there's a true heat vacuum. Here's hoping Batista beats him soundly at the Rumble, then Henry's contract runs out and he's never heard from again.
Placebo Effect Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Someone needs to find out where Henry lives and take photos. If he actually has a ten million dollar deal it better be fantastic.
2GOLD Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Tazz: "How do you stop Mark Henry?" Me: Wait till he gets injured again. Shouldn't take TOO much longer. And who HASN'T stopped Mark Henry? No one is intimated by him anymore. World's Strongest Man means about as much as a World's Greatest Grandpa trophy now. Also, last time I checked Batista is STRONG. So what? Now they are going to sell their world champion as weak compared to MARK HENRY?!?! What's next? Triple H losing a Ironman match to Funaki?
ChrisMWaters Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Here's someone I'd rather try to challenge Batista for the World Heavyweight Title over Mark Henry...
Youth N Asia Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 I'm also annoyed with the "Who can stop Mark Henry" thing...AGAIN. Everytime they bring him back they act like everyone on the roster hasn't beaten him. I watched Smackdown for the first time in months last night...I was amused by the Boogeyman...nothing else on the show did much for me
