Guest MrBriggs Report post Posted January 9, 2006 I was there for this, it was potentially the shittiest match I've ever seen in my entire life. The guy who reported it got it a bit wrong. Henry enters.. Bastista comes out next and clubs him with some shots, they go back and forth for about a minute with Henry getting the advantage and then setting him up draped on the second rope. Henry hits the ropes and plunges through the middle and they both fall to the foor and Batista's injury is obvious and he's fucking PISSED. At ths point Henry grabs the bell and after about 30 seconds hits him with it and the ref calls the DQ. The trainers and agents come out and talk to an extremely aggravated Batista for like 5 minutes while Henry exits. Then Henry comes back out as the crowd is leaving and Batista kicks him extremely hard and then fucking smashes him with the steps. The injury was very obvious, the whole match took probably about a minute and a half.
claydude14 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Poor Batista. I remeber when he yelled FUCK at Taboo Tuesday when Vader botched the spinebuster. I think I read that was what tore Batista's lat. I hope he stiffed Henry good with the stairs. I read on I think 411mania or Insidepulse that Batista's wife also has cancer right now. If that's true it's just another reason Batista should go home and rest for a while.
Guest JMA Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Is anyone having flashbacks to Diesel's run? I mean, they're throwing all these big guys at Batista and it's not working out at all.
Naked Snake 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Mark Henry might be the only guy who might win a world title and then be released 6 months later. Sid won the World Title in February of 1997 and was gone six months later. Is anyone having flashbacks to Diesel's run? I mean, they're throwing all these big guys at Batista and it's not working out at all. Batista is not drawing 1,000 crowd houses. He's doing way better than Diesel's run in 1995. AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) They should put the belt back on JBL again. Say what you will, but the guy never gets (seriously) hurt as much as useless ol' Dave Edited January 10, 2006 by AntiLeaf33
haVoc 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 How has Batista been useless? At least when he worked through his last injury he saved us from Randy Orton getting the title. An update on Batista is that the belief at this moment is still that he tore his triceps at yesterday's show in Verona, NY. He has been flown to Birmingham to meet with Dr. James Andrews today for a full evaluation. That means he is unlikely for tonight's house show in Elmira, at least as a participant. What decision will be made from here will depend on Andrews' evaluation. The company had made the call to go with Randy Orton as champion when Batista tore his lat several weeks back, but then when Batista said he would continue working a full schedule, the title change was rescinded. RedJed 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Probably would be the best to just give the belt to Orton ASAP, build to a Buried Alive match (or whatever) with Taker at No Way Out (according to this weeks Observer the latest idea for NWO was to be Batista/Taker anyway), and then from there, try your damndest to get Rock in for a one time shot at Mania v. world champ Orton. Oh yeah and Henry-Batista is supposedly penciled in for Rumble - I have my doubts if that will even happen now, probably for the best.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Oh yeah and Henry-Batista is supposedly penciled in for Rumble - I have my doubts if that will even happen now, probably for the best. It is. Or was before this went down. If they are really determined to get something out of Henry, I would not rule out Henry getting the belt.
Bored 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Batista won't be visting Dr. James Andrews as he had a heart attack (from mlb.com): http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...e2005&fext=.jsp In other news, Jeff Bagwell's trip to Birmingham later this week may be postponed. Dr. James Andrews suffered a heart attack over the weekend, and while he is reportedly doing well, it's likely Andrews' appointments have been put on hold until further notice. randomguy 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Jeez, I thought you meant that Batista had a heart attack... Anyway what the hell is WWE doing? They put Batista in with big fat old unskilled guys and they invariably fuck up. Henry is a great example of throwing good money after bad. Either way the 10 million isn't coming back. So cut your losses and leave him on the bench forever.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 I have an original idea. What if the title is vacated and the winner of the Royal Rumble becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion. That could work.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2006 I always avoid spoilers, but the second I signed onto AIM last night, some fuckweasel who I didn't even have on my buddy list spoiled what was going to happen with the title. EDIT: And it's on WWE.com? Fuck, so much for being able to enjoy Smackdown spoiler free.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2006 Yeah someone last night mentioned it to me in a freakin basketball chatroom. Anyway here's some spoilage: Kurt Angle goes back to SD and wins a 20 man battle royale and becomes the new champ. It seems like they are STILL going with the god awful Henry push, since it was him and Angle at the finish. What happens if he injures Kurt as well? I mean my god, are they ever going to learn? Anyway, there's no way in hell they use Angle as a transition guy to Mark Henry, so don't worry about the title change.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Tough to lose your biggest star like this. At least he held the belt longer than Cena, even if it was two days, and he got to leave with his dignity. Any ideas on how long he will be out? Summerslam? Survivor Series? Wrestlemania XXIII? Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 I'm thinking he'll be out six-months or so, but it's possible his career is over because he keeps tearing his triceps, and that's what ended the career of Del Wilkes, so Batista could have the same problem. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Sucks to be Batista, has everything going for him, was doing a lot better as champion than Cena, but he keeps having the same injuries.
evilhomer 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 (regarding RNN skits) They were gold. I still don't understand why WWE didn't run with that gimmick, it was great stuff. Two trains of thought on that. #1: Hey, those RNN things are getting so much attention, let's give him something "really good" to work with. or #2: The fucking IWC likes those skits?!? Kill them.
