Clerks 2 Trailer

Recommended Posts

So, the plot is that they're working at a Mooby's. With Rosario Dawson.

Yeah, that looks like it might be good.

The blonde looks like Smith's wife...except blonde.

Off, yet on, topic, does anyone know if there is still a anything in the works to further the animated Clerks story? I thought I heard at one point that the animated version was going to be Clerks 2, but I guess not.

it looks like they're going away from the little things (great dialogue, simple scenes) that made the first one so great and are going with the over-the-top goofiness of JSBSB. ah well, I've got all the other Kevin Smith movies, why not check this one out also?

I agree wholeheartedly with Lushus there, which is why I griped about this one being in color. I thought the exact same thing about this one, in that it felt just like J&SBSB. The Jay and Silent Bob flick made for some good tongue-in-cheek humor, but this is the sequel to the wrong movie, it feels like.

Did I miss the part where Kevin Smith renegged on J&SBSB being the last film with Jay & Silent Bob?

I think the second he said he was planning any sort of Clerks 2, that people basically understood Jay & Bob were going to be around in at least some way.

And it seems, via the trailer, that Smith is playing the nostalgia card with the J&SB sidewalk dance sequence, the look down on Jay from the rooftop, and the opening, and most surely more.

I think it's still in the plans at some point, but I'm not entirely sure. I know that a while back they put up a little animation sample from the people who will be working on it on their website. I don't know if it was ever planned to be Clerks 2, I think all along they've been saying they'll be making one or possibly more straight to video movies out of it.

without sounding too typical, kevin smith lost anything great he had after chasing amy. although j&sbsb was fun because one could see the majority of the characters one last time. the plot, and especially, the jokes were really bad.

did anyone see jersey girl? woof. give it up, kev. see you on degrassi

Hey, it's Kevin Smith. I'll watch it no matter what. The "Flying Car" short with Dante and Randall was done in color too and it came out great and funny, so I see no prob with the movie not being B&W.

I love J&SB SB personally. And Mallrats. They are both really fun movies that I could watch over and over again.

Dogma is a great film, but not as rewatchable for me. Same with Clerks.

I wasn't a huge fan of Chasing Amy. Thought it was cute, but missing something.

I hated Chasing Amy. Mallrats is an "okay" movie to me. I can watch it, but I'd never buy it. J&SBSB is falls in that same category.

Dogma and Clerks are the only two movies of his that I own (not counting the animated series).

Clerks will probably always be my favorite KS movie. That said, I've enjoyed all his stuff besides Jersey Girl (which I haven't seen). Though Mallrats is just a funny, entirely forgettable movie. As is J&SBSB.

Seems like I'm the only one whose favorite is Chasing Amy.

I also put Chasing Amy on the top of my list, with Dogma and Clerks switching places consistantly for second, and Mallrats and Strike Back randomly rounding out the list, though I do enjoy them all, as they all have their own little things that set them apart from the others.

The word on the street is that basically, it's all Jason Mewes's fault that we are getting another J&SB-Verse film.

Mewes had a nasty, nasty drug habit that got him in legal trouble around the time Jersey Girl was being made and it's been heavily rumored that in order to get his friend to go into rehab and stay clean, that Smith promised to Mewes that he'd put together a new J&SB film for the two to work together on.

As for it being "Clerks 2", that is tied to what Mole to the People said: Smith is a one-hit wonder regarding his own little J&SB-linked franchise and him doing a "Clerks" sequel is a sign of desperation in terms of him strip-mining his early work for the sake of being still able to get work......
